Anyone trying the beta? How are you liking it? Have you bought anything on it yet? Is the client stable for you?

Do you think it has any good chances at becoming a good alternative to Steam?

Well they have a bunch of content in their library - hopefully they can pull it off. Steam needs a stronger competitor.

I just noticed apparently you can still join games that Steam users have even if you bought the game on GOG, and chat with Steam users. Interesting.

It won't be a steam competitor and it's not really intending to be, either. Though, it's the closest to steam yet.

That said, it's stable but due for a lot of polish still.

It's biggest advantage is to up date games in a steam like way rather than browsing through your library and downloading them manually.

As for gog itself, I've been on and off there for years with purchases. Mostly indeed old stuff, though.
