from a young age despite the overwhelming circumstances that harden the quest, i've been dreaming of greatness, immortality, i've tried many philosophies to fill in this void i have but i always managed to find loopholes in them and i have my ENTP personality to thank for that

but we live in an age where idols amount to literal bags of garbage from tv celebrities and sport gods to even models and online "public figures"

i sought to immortalize my name in my country's civil war since i'm young, only 23 years old, but i almost died and endangered my family and reputation, trapped now from both the quarantine and the war i thought of many ways to achieve greatness, a man can do anything in this world, but to experience victory whether you're me or a political entity etc.. what you need is teamwork, no man can do anything alone

but before you make sacrifices for the team in the name of whatever cause, be sure it,s a cause that resembles yours

what if it's your destiny by god to achieve greatness, and it's an independent quest on your behalf, he instilled this desire in you for a reason

Personal in the sense that it usually applies to each individual and what they can achieve on their own, for themselves. I didn't mean to judge it as an approach towards life or anything, I just commented using as much of a universal perspective as I could.

It's a word for those high on their luck.

Immortality is great?
- Regardless, most individual medusae are likely to fall victim to the general hazards of life as mesoplankton, including being eaten by predators or succumbing to disease.

Well, since I am an ENTP, and so was Socrates, we shall see if you live up to that set of letters.

Ah! So far so good. You may be a brother in spirit after all. On we go!

i sought to immortalize my name in my country's civil war since i'm young, only 23 years old, but i almost died and endangered my family and reputation, trapped now from both the quarantine and the war i thought of many ways to achieve greatness, a man can do anything in this world, but to experience victory whether you're me or a political entity etc.. what you need is teamwork, no man can do anything alone
So, wisdom came young, but almost at a price too great to suffer and live. Fear not, greatness can be completed in a single instant and with no one there to witness, even yourself. Do you agree? On we go ...

but before you make sacrifices for the team in the name of whatever cause, be sure it,s a cause that resembles yours
This statement, by itself, is unwise. Self indulgence is unwise. So there is no cause that merely in resembling your own, is worthy. What is worthy is objective, NOT subjective. The reason so much is wrong with the world these days is that so many people are deluded by subjectivism, following their own causes, an not choosing to align with what Socrates referred to as 'the GOOD'.

Happiness (objective) and greatness (objective) can only be found in alignment with the objective GOOD. Now people are quite often deluded and choose to believe that evil choices are also possibly great. But in the sense to which I refer, only GOOD can even be great. That is to say great evil is very piss poor indeed, objectively. So admiration of what is evil is ALWAYS ... just ... evil.

So, oddly, within your text here, you do not reiterate your title question in context. I will assume it is reiterated and answer it.

Greatness what is your definition of it, and how do you strive for it?
There is always and only a single definition possible for 'Greatness'. That is the intent towards what is objectively GOOD, or perfectly GOOD. It matters not that one can never actually achieve perfection. That is not relevant. Only the intent, ongoing, until one is dead, is relevant. Greatness is found along with genuine happiness as a side effect of choices that align with the GOOD, and indeed to the same degree of that alignment with the GOOD. Likewise, unhappiness is found by making bad or immoral choices and those are out of alignment with objective GOOD.

How does one strive for this greatness? The first step is admitting that the GOOD is objective. The second step is following all three of your primal emotions, fear, anger, and desire, and balancing them, and INCREASING them together. All three of these emotions MUST be balanced to aim at the GOOD. And the increasing part is what distinguishes us from animals and less properly intended humans. This discipline of increase and balance is the ONLY proper path towards what is GOOD.

i found that the only reason you thought my statement was wrong is because it sounded subjective for socrates objective standards, i just don't my self having his standard because i don't know them, what makes them objective even, maybe if you answer that i'll have to reconsider some of my held beliefs, assuming i'm convinced because even bad men immortalized their name throughout history

Hey you might remember me as the Chinese guy who’s an INFP. I lost access to my old account but miraculously recovered access to this old-old account. In case you don’t remember me I made a couple posts about astrology.

I don’t think I strive for greatness by the conventional definition. I strive to stay true to myself, to assist others in my life, especially those I care about, to pursue my own hobbies and just make the best of the time I’ve got in this mortal coil.

However, that does not mean I don’t have any visions of attaining greatness based on my own ideals. If I could attain greatness, I would be a successful fighter for democratic ideals in my home country, and support the liberation of my people from the authoritarian regime they are living under. Last year I nearly went to join the protests in Hong Kong, if not for the fact that I would pretty much lose my whole life and that anyone close to me would probably be questioned by the secret police (Bureau of Public Security and the Ministry of State Security). It’s such a big vision to fulfill and I feel I lack the strength to carry through.

As an extension of these ideals, I am an anarcho-socialist at heart and I wish I could play a part in a global uprising against the political and economic elite and make life a lot better for the average man or woman.

These are my ideals. Sometimes though I feel so trapped, so suffocated in this world and I dream of worlds I’ve yet to see or experience. I can’t really describe fully using words but I’m really fascinated by what could be out there, both out in space and deep under the sea.

Most of the time, I’m more than happy living a simple and quiet life where I have the freedom to do what I wish to do and I have people who love me and whom I love and care about. I absolutely love saltwater aquariums and I will be starting one hopefully soon.

even though we differ from each other i can't but respect a man who fights for his ideals, i know what it's like to place your family first above your self, i find my self though not caring about regimes as injustice and unfairness will exist in each one out there including the most liberal environments, but i only care about my world and the people who are in it

the idea of making a country of your own inside a country makes the most sense to me

Overcoming personal barriers, living in the present, and being a beacon of health & support to all of those in your immediate life... Being great to some, and fair to the rest. I'm striving for it, by chasing my personal goals--and they aren't the easiest path for me. 😉

Your post makes you seem egotistical. At least the "sport gods" display talent and skill. They practice and work hard. Someone who has been dreaming of greatness and exploring philosophies hasn't done as much. To answer your question, I don't have my own idea of greatness and I don't strive for greatness.

I've already achieved greatness. I discovered and documented the only valid breakdown for every type, wing and stack using 2500+ exemplars. More like 3,000+ now. I would say its greatness. Nobody on the forums can do that and it surely takes a great vision. At that time, due to the mishaps of Tritype (aka multiple personality disorder), everybody had given up on the idea that there was a way to break down every type wing and stack without running into logical, conceptual, structural flaws. Typewatch, which has so many mistypings, tried to challenge me with their smaller list and failed. They relied heavily on tritype and had to invent stack ranges, sub this, sub that, in a misguided attempt to account for all its logical, conceptual, structural flaws...I was able to empirically validate every type, wing and stack in the enneagram without requiring the need for tritype. In other words, my breakdown for every type wing and stack shows there was never a problem to begin with that required tritype in the first place....which for anybody who actually values knowledge means the end of tritype, trifix (aka multiple personality disorder)

I also achieved greatness with the VI templates for every socionics type and subtype. Look how solid that is. I cracked the VI tmeplates for every socionics type and subtype.

More broadly, I"ve achieved greatness by laying a foundation in both socionics and enneagram sufficient that the two typologies can be forged together without running into impossible combinations like INFJ 8 and ENFJ 5. That's where others failed. They were stuck inside a one typology closed mindset. Stackemup Typology ushered in the era of the Typology Multiverse which I am glad to be known as the King of.

Greatness to me is changing the world in some way. If I invent a new style of music and everyone copied it, that would be achieving greatness to me.

I guess this quarantine has really got us all in deep reflection mode, which is awesome if that leads to us finding our own Greatness.

Greatness to me is (never really saw it that way) is more of a way of life- Native Americans resemble Greatness to me. Why? Because they are humble (I’m generalizing of course), but it is embedded in their cultural matrix.

Greatness is about coming and being as you are: self-acceptance and reaching our full potentials To fulfill our vows we keep to ourselves as it speaks to the inner core inner essence of our inner being. Greatness to me is understanding that in the grand scheme of things in life, we’re all tiny droplets of water in the ocean doing what we can do best by bring our best as life is a precious gift to bestow our greatest passions upon. It’s a constant soul journey manifested into concrete reality that makes the (sky gods- higher power- collective spirit) sort of jealous- because we do have this opportunity to express ourselves, a sort of freedom that’s rare, but when you stand apart from it, you see through a detached lens that life is beautiful when we see and accept people as they are. By doing so, it encourages them to express their best gifts. And that process in itself magnifies as Greatness.

What's so great about the Universe is that cannot fail to exist. So it can only produce a consistent story without any backup plan and superfluous forces. That's why Occam's razor is a thing.

Hence life doesn't tend to produce brains for a joke. The function of a brain is very unique, its development leads to a will for perpetuity through consistency. And that's willing nothing but the fundamental attributes of the Universe itself.

Yet if the Universe didn't need a brain, it wouldn't produce any. In other words, the Universe cannot exist without desiring actively to achieve perpetuity through consistency. So that's how it is. Humans are blessed with the greatest opportunity to become sapient. They can help the Universe to develop its neural system, by becoming smarter and connecting with other intelligent species around. Or they can be part of the acceptable rate of failure, remain crazy and dumb until self-destruction.

That is to say humans can't achieve greatness, there is nothing great about being human. They can at best contribute to the greatness of the Universe, by pushing back the limits of their skills and understanding, fighting madness and shit. Which is something much greater than any self infatuated species somewhere in space.
