Hello There

I am still cautious about all of this, not because I doubt my personality type, but because I don't want to get lost in a realm of ideas (any more than I already am!). Learning more about the Enneagram has enhanced my life, so this is just a brief intro.

In my late teens I was wrongfully prescribed anti-psychotic medication by a rogue psychiatrist, and this, possibly coupled with being type 4, meant that 7 years of my life passed by rather quickly. I started weening myself off of medication in 2009, which allowed to be more creative.

I've been dong fine since, but it feels like I have a lot of catching up to do! I felt better after reading more about being type 4, since it helped me realized that there are others who shared certain traits which used to make me feel different and isolated. I'm working with a therapist who introduced me to the Enneagram, and there is a possibility that I am 4w5. I could associate with many of the characteristic of The Bohemian, although acknowledging this did make me feel a bit scr*wed(!). According to the online Myers-Briggs test I did I am INFJ, although I'm not sure yet how this relates to being type 4, and I have not discussed this with my therapist.

Currently, I am employed as an English Tutor, and I make short films as a hobby. I've also been helping out social workers with auxilary work (filing etc), although I'll only be able to undergo formal training at the end of this year. I sometimes feel guilty about my artistic pursuits, which feel narcissistic in light of the poverty and suffering I see around me, but am trying to find some balance.

Thanks
Alex:crazy:

Hey, welcome to PerC!

Hmm, I've been focusing mostly on MBTI, but now I'm thinking I should do a bit more research on Enneagram. I've known quite a few type 4 INFJ's, in fact my best friend is just that, so I look forward to talking to you more sometime :proud:

Hey, thank you :) It's probably good to know both, although at the moment I'm more focused on the Enneagram.

So much introspection o_0

Hiii! I'm also an INFJ, but im type 2. The first time I took that test I got a 4 though...so we should be alike in some ways :)
Hi  All I've read about being INFJ rang true for me, but I took the online test three times. The first result was INFJ, then for some reason I took it again, and the result was INFP. This confused me, so I did it again the next day and the result was INFJ again. They don't really give clear instructions with such tests, and I think sometimes feeling down or happy has an impact on the result. I've mainly read about being type 4, but look forward to learning more about other personality types as well :)
