I'm a little scared to post this. lol. The last time I was "into music" I was listening to bands like Tears for Fears, The Police and Sting, The Sugar Cubes and Bjork, Tori Amos, Enya and, more recently, The Tea Party. And, well, I also quite like Matt Good.

Since having children...it's been near impossible to give myself over to music the way I want to. I have to keep part of my hearing available in case my children need me. I can't seem to ever truly shut everything else out and just listen and feel the music. I miss it terribly.

I listen to the radio but I don't always know what or who I'm listening to when I like something. I know there's stuff out there that would absolutely melt me. I want to get lost in a song - for days, but I'll keep my goals a little more realistic - again. But I don't have the time or the knowledge to search.

That's where you all come in.

I like emotional music/singing. I like to feel hypnotized by music and completely taken over by the state of mind it's promoting.

Here are a few songs I can identify that make me feel that way:

Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap
Uprising by Muse
Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon

Please recommend bands you think I would like.......or you think I "should" like, if you prefer.

Thanks!

This is from a great Canadian movie, btw... Sarah is awesome. She's from SW Ontario.

I'll be way down a silver road, I'll go
Where the moon has it lit up
Turn off your headlights and go slowly
I don't want it to let up.

Have you been thinking that you were all alone
While I still thought of you
A word every once in a while forgetting that
Some of it could be true
Held in the beam of a light I thought we shared
Shone between two shores
And wants to be traveled like the gravel that
Runs from my door to yours

I'll be way down the silver road, I'll go
Where the moon has it lit up
Turn off your headlights and go slowly
I don't want it to let up.

As to how far it goes
And to when we set out
I&#8217ll say goodnight on the street
And I&#8217ll see you around

Way down a silver road, I'll go
Where the moon has it lit up
Turn off your headlights and go slowly
I don't want it to let up.
