I've been reading a lot about INTP women and how they are considered a less desirable type to be. I find it disheartening because as much as I think the descriptions fit it seems that it focuses a lot on negative aspects. It would be interesting to hear about more positive opinions on the matter. Are we really that bad?

We know what he meant.

Lets get to the real answer here: INTP women are intelligent and thus the average male can't use his sleight of hands tricks hes been taught by his gender stereotyping environment. Generalizing, Men are sharks and sharks and attracted to fish. Intelligent women are sharky, why bother with another shark when there is plenty of fish to catch? Everyone wants to play an easy game right? Men then project their inability to deal with intelligent women by labeling them as less desirable. Women then project their inability to become intelligent by labeling intelligent women as less desirable. These outdated rules are the centerpiece of gender perception, and its fucking stupid. That is just my theory. I have never met an intp female so I don't know have any personal experiences. I'm sure you ladies are alright though.

intp women are usually quiet and take a long time to open up to someone, but when they do, they REALLY do. intp women care about their friends and like to know how they're doing. however, this attention may often be misinterpreted as the intp woman having a crush on said friend, but this is rarely the case.

Hawt. If attractive physically, an INTP is pretty much the best type for me. <3

What do you mean by "to be." Said by men in a romantic sense, or at work, or what? Where was that said?

I haven't ever really seen any negativity towards female INTPs on these forums.

And... why did this thread get moved into the INTP articles forum..? Doesn't seem very articlly.

Your theory makes sense to me. Especially the part of men not being able to pull the old tricks on an INTP girl. As an INTP I could always spot the inconsistincies in a lie or trick a girl was telling me. so Id assume the same would go with a girl, except they would have an easier time since most men are really stupid.

It took me a long time to recognize said tricks. Not that I fell for them, but did entertain them. Just assumed that there must be more to people than the shallowness. Now I find fast ways to shake the dirt out from the weeds. Men who are after easy prey do get bored and move on, which is the goal. Saves me time, saves them time.

The ones deemed worthy (ie. not asshats, for eg.) also find me worthy. When I hear women talking about men I feel fortunate to be an INTP woman. I can't think of a single occasion it hasn't worked in my favor.

Sure, we won't fall for the standard tricks, and we don't like dating games. We don't mess around. But that also means we don't waste our time, energy, and emotion on things that lead to nowhere but grief as much as other types do.

So long as the relationship is reasonably straightforward, we're good people to be with because we are stable, logical, low-maintenance, honest, and smart. A good relationship is founded in clear communication and trust; with people we're open to, these are some things we're incredibly good at. We don't tend to throw away a good thing for irrational reasons; if we dump someone, it's because we saw good evidence that it wasn't going to work. And if you're also a female geek, you have a decent pool of people for whom that's an enormous plus.

Of course not, I would love to be in a relationship with an INTP woman. :)

The ever elusive INTP woman...haha. They are a rare breed. Extremely fun to engage with, very unassuming, and always sort of feel a weird brother/sister connection with them.
Oh my goodness! I'm an INTP and I've had that brother/sister thing with multiple guys! It's like a kind of familiarity that calls you out when you're being stupid...something "crushes" don't do.

Not a lot of guys want to take the time to get an INTP female to open up. It's time taken away from having sex.

Okay that's a terrible thing to say. There is some truth to it, but it's not the whole truth. I suppose you could say it's a crude generalization (but don't guys like crude?)
I personally think that most people really couldn't be bothered with taking the time in general. We're not exactly open books, nor are we willing to open our books to just anyone. While society is shifting away from the idea of a 50s housewife, there still is gender stigma out there that women should be doting, loving, open future wives and mothers (I mean let's face it, as progressionist as we like to think we are, what do a lot of people say about women in their 30s or 40s without a husband or children? "She must be a lesbian" - this actually happened to a cousin of mine from her now-disowned sister in-law - or "there must be something wrong with her", "crazy cat lady"...). INTPs do not fit that description.

It's not that we're less desirable, it's that we're misunderstood. And unfortunately there are many people out there that, when they come across something they don't understand, instinctively shy away from it. Sometimes even label (I reiterate, "crazy cat lady"). Not many people are willing to take the time to learn, it's that simple, and the ones that do are very unfortunately hard to find.
