How is Arnold Schwarzenegger INTJ?

One of my favorite actors no doubt, but I just do not see how he could be an INTJ like me. Anybody care to explain, or just have thoughts?

He seems more like an S/SJ of some sort to me, but I'm not good at typing people from afar, only closely when I get to know people. He seems too rigid/traditional to me, but somehow he's always under the famous INTJ list.

I know I just can't figure it out. Gotta be SJ
This is the umtieth time a thread has been started in question of Arnie's MBTI...

Again, don't give into stereotypes. Watch the interviews, read his book, you will see it. Dude is definitely Ni + Te.

I suspect an ESTJ
Everybody seems to wonder just how an apparently narcissistic bodybuilder-cum-actor-cum-governator can be an INTJ.
I agree with you, though; one of the best actors ever.
After studying him for a bit, he seems like an INTJ.

But, he's more of the type 8 variety, expending all his efforts into challenging himself, and not so much sitting around pondering and analyzing things like a type 5.

That just about describes an INTJ. The N is clear by the fact that he took up bodybuilding as a career, which is quite unconventional. The J is made clear by the fact that he took the necessary steps to become Governor. If he was P, he would still be an actor (he still is one, albeit one in cameo roles).

I don't think that I have to explain the I and T.

What?

He's intuitive so he would become a bodybuilder?

Uhhhhh

Let me rephrase that - an SJ would never become a bodybuilder. And yes - he's intuitive, that's why he didn't take up a conventional career which would have yielded significantly fewer rewards.
I can see it, actually. The "wrong advices" bits in Pumping Iron don't really work for SJ's. He's also a ridiculously ambitious person, and at the same time rather irreverent. I'm sorry, I don't see an SJ going AWOL from military training to compete in (and win) a bodybuilding contest in his late teens.

I can see him as an INTJ who has grown comfortable with forcing outward reactions to things: basically, an actor. I don't think the "image" thing is necessarily anti-INTJ. An INTJ can take on a particular image if that's what's needed to achieve his/her goals.
Well, he played a damned cyborg, and he did it pretty well.

He's not. Who told you such thing? I think he's more along the line of EN**?

The E/I dichotomy is kind of the least significant in MBTI, and it's the easiest to fake. Te is only a step down from Ni for us INTJ's - we can act or appear very extroverted if we choose. It may take energy, but we can do it if it helps us attain something important enough.

He could very well be ENTJ, but like I said, introverts can seem like extroverts, and vice-versa.

He's an INTJ because someone listed him as an INTJ on the CelebrityTypes.com website, and that's it.

And now people like you, and others, are going to post threads like this, which presuppose that CelebrityTypes is even a reliable source of information to begin with.

Ignore it, form your own opinion, and discuss that. In fact, if you had come into this thread with your own speculation rather than asking the question outright, perhaps we could've had a real conversation about it. But, instead this is all I have to say, unless you want to present your own legitimate reason for believing he is an INTJ, or any other type.

And even in that case, I would simply point you here: Myers Briggs Forum

Since, at that point, the topic would not be "Is Arnold Schwarzenegger an INTJ" but rather, "What Type Is Arnold Schwarzenegger."
Lots of sites list Bill Gates as ENTJ, yet there are arguments for him being INTP.

Hmm I was actually thinking about how he present himself when he talks and looking at his facial features you can get a sense that he has strong Fe. If you pay attention to when he smile, his eyes also smile. That is a very strong Fe characteristic. I actually used my intuition on this so I don't know how to explain it but he's a EN**. I want to say either an ENFJ or an ENTJ. And yes what you've said is true.
I can actually relate to Arnold as an INTJ. I weight lift too and Arnold wasn't just taking some dudes advice and pumping iron he was studying, experimenting, and inventing his own exercises and routines. Body building is really a fun way to test different hypothesis and even test conventional wisdom and see if it produces real world results. There are a lot of things to toy with, exercise, rep, sets, breaks between sets, frequency training, what signifies a good workout, hypertrophy vs strength gain, not to mention tons of nutrition, supplements, sleep. It's very very complicated stuff that has multiple viewpoints to consider so it's actually fun to sort through to bs.

Also in terms of him acting and being a politician. I see those as things I can relate to as well. It's the fun of doing something new and setting all your focus on that task and having a new set of goals to reach. He reached the pinnacle of bodybuilding, he was given opportunity to act and decided to run with it, then probably got tired of acting and wanted to do something new. I'm a type 3 enneagram and as such I am concerned with image and physique goes into that, looking ultra successful goes into that, and being pretty secretive about stuff you really screwed up on is also something I can relate to (he had some illegitimate
kids). Probably has a sx instinct like me too which is why he has a strong urge to experience new stuff.
