Every week, Parrot? That's an option?

I believe music played at a concert where weekly goers attend would fall on deaf ears.

I'd probably go to more shows if I had the money, but my main problem with concerts is the absolutely insane level of noise.

I realize that rock concerts are supposed to be loud. Loud is fine...to a point. When it is so loud that the music is distorted, it really takes away from the experience.

The worst is when 3 or more acts are performing on the same ticket. The opening act sets the bar for loudness, and each band afterwards tries to outdo them, not realizing that they end up sounding like CRAP in the end.

A couple times a year I usually attend big concerts. I think my desire to even do that has been declining over the last few years. I might go to some shows at small venues maybe once every other month. As an introvert the big concerts are just too draining. Traffic is a pain, prices are high, unnecessary noise and cell phone lights are also a pain, and half the time you can't hear the singer. If I go it's because I like the music. I get nothing at all from any rush of the crowd.

Pretty straightforward question. But to clarify, anyway, I'm talking any music concert. Can be rap, rock, pop, classical, etc. Also, can be big names, or can be small shows for local bands. Either way, how often do you go experience live music of some sort?

For me, almost never. Not a big live music fan.
If I could afford to go every month I would. I love live concerts. I love music. There's a lot of comedians that perform at the same venues as music, but I haven't been. I try to go to a Blues Festival every year....has tons of live bands, BBQ...it's fun to me.

I guess since I live in Nashville, I just sorta expected that people can go to a different show every night. But I suppose the whole world isn't that way :frustrating:

There are local bands that play lots of gigs weekly here, where I live in Dallas, TX. But the big acts, like Willie Nelson, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran.....they only come around 1 time per year. Sometimes Dallas is one of the places that attracts huge bands....otherwise they go to the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma. Sometimes they go to Austin to play.....but that's a 4 hour drive for me. So, it depends on who is playing and if I have money at the time. I did miss some good bands that came through over the past couple of months cos I was broke at the time. I'd def go to more concerts if I had the money to go.....otherwise I'm at home far more than I need to be as an Introvert...

I voted seldom, which is true for formal concerts, but I do deeply love live jazz at coffeehouses, low-key acoustic music at restaurants, and of course live beach music at the beach.

I enjoy live music, but I agree about preferring the smaller venues. However, some of my favorite bands I want to see live at least once whatever the venue.

I hate concerts. I'd rather stay home.

Pretty often, though really only classical (including anything: symphonic, opera, chamber, etc.). Recordings are nice, but the real thing is incredible. It's one of my favorite things to do by far.

Excluding school field trips to community classical concerts and the wind band concerts I played myself, I've never been to one and have no desire to go.

I don't like noise, I don't like crowds, I don't really see the point of paying extra money for music I already have on CD (I'd only pay to listen to something I'd already heard because I can't justify taking a chance on new music for the price of a ticket given how picky I am), and I tend to get attached to exact way a song sounds the first time or two I hear it, so even slight differences between the recording and the performance would irritate me. I also expect a lot of popular music acts to sound worse live.

Rarely. I don't like large crowds and it costs A Lot. So I tend to be very picky about concerts. Only large concerts I've gone to were with group of friends ( they makes a nice barrier). Other than that I stick to small venues that I can sit back and observe without being crowded and can still hear/see performances of the artists. So yearly average would be one maybe two.

I've never been to a concert before, but I'd like to go to one because there are some bands/singers out there who are really talented and I want to be able to experience that in person. I've seen some videos of live concerts, and there are certain artists who give some really amazing performances. Hopefully if I went to a concert, the band would be just as good, if not even better. Part of the reason why I haven't gone to a concert is because most of the artists that I like usually don't go to my city. Also, most of my friends like different bands than myself, so I don't know who I'd go with either.

Very often. This August I am going to attend 2 festivals:watershed and lollapalooza. I have ordered tickets on one site a month ago 'cause I know that in 2 weeks before any concert or festival it's hard to get tickets and the price becomes huge.
It will be unforgettable summer.

Seldom. Concerts are expensive, none of my friends like the same musicians as me and I hate going to things alone.
