Vocab in this article:

AI: Artificial Intelligence
GI: General Intelligence (not task specific)
AGI: Artificial General Intelligence (AI that has has intelligence that isn't task specific)

Simple premise: GI would be like humans, we have the unique ability to apply our flexible minds on virtually anything. AI without general intelligence would be like photoshop. It's smart at its task, but it isn't a contender in world domination.

The Human AGI Model

When we think of AI, we're typically thinking of drama dripping Hollywood movies. AI, or rather AGI safety is a relatively big concern. But in grappling with what questions need to be asked, and what the answers are, some interesting questions arise.

What we want from an AGI varies from person to person. Some of us want a science advancing program, others want artificial decedents, others want task slaves. Obviously there needs to be a consensus on what the actual goals of an AGI are. And so in AGI safety discussions, there are all sorts of quick solutions, like putting the agi in a box that can't access the internet.

AGI is supposed to program itself, design itself magnitudes faster than humans develop themselves. It's a scary thought, seeing as to how not many people actively spend time developing themselves past their gaming leaderboards and twitter followers. We're ultimately so lazy that we're trying to create something that does our developing for us.

But as a society, we're like an AGI. We develop. We increase our computing and developing power by education and by having more people. Not only that, but what if this universe is the box our creator(s) put us in, disconnected from a larger world, no means to connect to the outside, only to slowly develop within this box. What if we can't make a conscious AGI? What if our consciousness is a spark compared to what the being(s) outside the box have? A mere image of what they have rather than that in an of itself? What're your thoughts?

This is a can of worms that is ultimately going to go out of control after a point but when that will be or under what circumstances I have no idea however I am aware of how it will be abused.
