Hello everyone!!! I finally joined yesterday, so figured I would introduce myself.
Bahhh I'm excited to finally be a member here. I love reading EVERY thread. They're always so fascinating and I always find something unexpected that I relate + connect to.
I'm 16, a senior in high school (I know, I'm a bit young) at an American school in Taiwan. Grew up (for the most part) in Los Angeles, CA, half French, half Chinese-American.
I speak French with my dad, English mixed with Shanghainese + occasional Mandarin Chinese with my mom's family, taking Latin + Ancient Greek at school, and I taught myself Italian over the summer. I've found out my propensity + love for languages is actually a very INFP trait..which I actually find quite surprising given that I normally wouldn't relate language interest with actual fundamental personality - I guess it seems like a personal preference thing. It's really a bit shocking to learn that different people with personality types actually share SO many traits. Oh. And of course, I write. I write I write I write because it is the only way I survive this world.
The more I read about INFPs, the more I LOVE our personality. I guess it's only natural, cause it's me and everything people talk about in those forums feel natural and comfortable and familiar obviously the functions that are most natural to me I regard as the most important ones.
More actually about me? INFPs are generally referred to with one (or more) of three words: Idealist, Dreamer, Healer. All three are SO true, though Healer is not as consistently relevant to my situation. So I'm a hardcore Idealist Dreamer, basically. The world can never quite live up to everything I need it to be and so I am seldom really in it. Unless I really force myself to concentrate, when I laugh with friends my mind is always somewhere else, and if it isn't, it's making disconnected emotional commentary about the situation.
I should really stop procrastinating and go do stuff that is overdue now, so I'll hold off on anything more for now. I guess I'll just say I'm excited to be here finally and I LOVE reading about the different personality types.
