Hi, just landed here on this website. Seems very chill here so I decided to stay, nice to meet all of you! I am still having trouble with my typology even after a year of being in this community but I'm taking my time :) I migrated from hell (pdb) because I'm starting to hate it there. And you can call me by my username, Idyll. I'm still new to typology so feel free to correct me, I can be inaccurate sometimes, I'm human after all lol. I hope to learn more about it and I guess.. make some friends? I'm quite awkward but I'll try 🧍‍♂

What? You're not a bot like the rest of us? Get the torches and pitchforks!

On a more serious note:
Welcome, enjoy your stay and don't worry about not knowing everything - we are indeed very chill.

Hello, thank you for welcoming me!

Are you in school or do you work? What do you do? What's a favorite hobby of yours? What's your favorite thing about you? What's something you'd like to work on?
I am a student, so I'm still in school. I usually go by my day finishing homework but studying personality typology made it fun. My favorite hobby is drawing, and I'd love to have it more than just a hobby. A thing I like about myself? I have not thought about that too much, though I think I like my curly hair, it's messy and poofy when I wake up but flat when it gets wet lol. And I'd like to work on finding my type, self-analyzing is hard for me so I want to get better at it :)

Welcome Idyll, I hope you enjoy your time here and find what you're looking for. You came from personality-database? I go there sometimes, what did you hate about it?

Hey, I also joined back when I was in school. (7 years ago - oh god, I'm getting old) I've also found it really enriching to learn about typology back then, because "self-reflection" is not something that you get taught in school. Even just thinking more about the personality and interests of other people while trying to type them helps to truly empathize with them and be more considerate.

Just keep in mind that your current self might not be quite who you'll end up being! I used to type myself very differently at age 16, because I just perceived some of my personality traits as more quintessential than they ended up being and I specifically turned out to be a lot more like my mum as an adult than I used to admit. (She's an ENFJ)
So don't feel defeated if you need to get back to the drawing board regarding your own type at some point; that's perfectly normal :)

Thank you for this!! This is very helpful, I'll try to keep being optimistic about it :)

Thank you for welcoming me :)

I'm only starting to hate it because of how chaotic it is. The discussion boards are slow to take in posts, some people making alt accounts to troll or harass people. When welcoming new people to the community, instead of suggesting them to learn cognitive functions, they would tell them to "leave and come back when you're good at it" or "shut up" -at least that's what I've been seeing. Though I only go there when I have questions, I never stay to talk on discussion boards anymore. Sure there are good people there, but I can't stand people who do not try to be nice to someone who barely knows typology. It's not as if we knew everything there was to know about typology right away.

No problem ^-^

Oh yeah, that sounds sucky. I don't really engage much in the community on PDB so I don't know how bad it is.
Well thankfully that doesn't really happen here, so I hope it'll be more tolerable for you.
