I used to think the MBTI was total crap, akin to astrology, and I still think there are problems with the validity of the tests. Then a few weeks ago I attended an interactive presentation on the MBTI personality types and had a few intense realizations about myself, my communication style, and how other people respond to me and I realized I shouldn't dismiss it so readily. So now I'm here, hoping to learn more!
I'm an ENFJ and from what I gather, this explains why I have an intense affinity for to-do lists, spreadsheets, and organization. Everything I read about this type also states that we're "charmers" and good leaders and confident, and while I definitely have people tell me that this is how they see me, and I believe them, I think all these qualities makes me a jerk. I'm also a woman, so this disjoint between how people see me versus how I see myself means that I occasionally struggle with imposter syndrome.
I think my partner may be an INFP. I haven't asked him to take the test yet because, well, I actually have no idea why. Probably because I spent so long bitching about attending the MBTI presentation that doing a 180 and asking him to take the test would be unfair of me.
