This is my first blog entry here. I'm gonna start by sharing a poem. I'm thinking of making this a place for my poems and other creative ideas I have.
I notice that even when I'm happy, my poetry almost always expresses the darker side of myself. I just tend to be better at expressing that kind of mood in poetry.

Moonlight glimmers upon my cheeks
Tickling the last remains of my unspoken dreams

Light dances off sorrow
Beauty sparkles on the surface of despair

Every star glimmers with promise
As my glassy eyes search the universe

But my searching eyes always return to you
and your mesmerizing glow.

Memories of you glimmer in my heart
Though you are worlds away,
I am a prisoner of earth

My idle tears mean nothing to you
And will never bring you near.

Still, I cry
To cleanse my soul of this empty longing
Before dawn breaks
And my starry backdrop melts away once more

Willy, to answer your question, I feel this way from time to time in bursts...or sometimes just deep under the surface where I'm hardly aware of it. I feel I'm a mixture of both joy and sorrow and I do have plenty of things to be happy about as well. It's just that my poetry tends to be darker than I am most of the time.
