This is my first Thread. Hope you all enjoy. Give your thoughts and ideas on this scenario: "In fantasy and fiction some one is always trying to take over the world. What if an INFP or group of INFP's successfully took over the world. What type of world do you think it will be?

Good question. Pretty liberal I think, where peace and equality is highly valued, where no-one in the world goes starving for a day. I think it would be an imaginative, beautiful and fantastical world where fantasy, stories and true romance is highly valued. Frankly I think it would be a fucking fantastic world myself. (Yes and I am not biased or ANYTHING, lol. ;))

I think the world the way it is now, just is what it is. It isn't perfect by any means but then again, it isn't completely at war either. There are wars going on but they do not cross over most continents.

Most of the negative things that happen are due to greed and power mostly, which to me, strikes me as an ENTJ trait for the most part. Consequencly they are the people I think I can make the biggest enemies out of. Maybe they are not truely bad people at their heart and maybe they are who they are as a means of survival. For me it isn't personal grudges against people's personalitys it's actually putting people in danger and having lack of empathy when it comes to others suffering, especially young defenceless people. That for me, is a difficult subject to tackle.

One of the most important traits that INFPs (all NFs) possess is empathy and that to me and such an important part of our world/ society.

Took over in an oppressive sense, or just if the majority of the population were INFP?
Well that is up to you to decide I mean ruled the world as in a take over but not necessarily to oppress the people. What do you think they would do?

So do you mean like the INFP would be the domiant and accepted MBTI like the EST's are?

That would be an interesting world, I can't really begin to think fo what would be different tbh xD

I don't think a group of INFPs could take over the world. They wouldn't all agree to a single course of action, and even if they did, some would probably flake out.

It would be a world I'd rebel against. A government I'd protest against. Not saying INFP's couldn't do a good job - it would be unfair just like it is right now, only from a different perspective.

If we INFPs ruled the world I doubt anyone would know tbh because we wouldn't broadcast it :)

I agree with eyenexepee. In my mind there would be two overarching reasons for rebelling against the world in this scenario. Firstly, I can see the constant pursuit of a better way of running affairs (the 'grass is greener' mentality) would most likely lead to me to voice for change, since improvements can always be made.

Secondly, I see there being a conflict between maintaining group harmony and differentiating oneself from everybody else. I'm not sure which preference would take precedence - though in all probability I think I'd sway towards being an iconoclast, all the more so if I believed my ideals would truly be for the greater good.

So yeah, long stable authoritarian regimes aren't really our thing! :-3

Another thing, I can't see INFPs taking over the world by force. The only way I could see anything happen is if it were achieved by way of a "coalition" of INFPs strongly motivated by a set of shared values - perhaps an ominous behind-the-scenes "Council" type villain (The Avenger's 'World Council' / Neon Genesis Evangelion's 'Seele').

It would be awesome or pretty crappy, depending on the values of said INFP, and not to mention, the motivations of his/her helpers. Unfortunately, being INFP doesn't make you a "good person" by default. Still, a healthy and open-minded INFP can be a great leader-I have no reason to believe he/she couldn't "rule the world" effectively and peacefully, though personally, I don't like the idea of a worldwide kingdom.

The phrase "happiness is mandatory" just pops into my head, for some reason. I think I much prefer INFPs as rebels rather than overlords.

A Seele style INFP conspiracy seems eerily plausible, somehow.

I would begin creating my socialist paradise.
Jawohl?

INFP-led large-scale movements do not end up democratic. The INFPs motivated enough to fight must have their way.

Cool thread. I personally think it would by necessity by really democratic. I mean I personally feel like crap whenever I force someone to do something they don't want to do; I feel like the desire to make a perfect society would always be tempered by the respect for others autonomy. Wouldn't an oppressive socialism be more of an XNFJ thing?

I could imagine what I've always really wished, a sort of benevolent, democratic world government. Anyone can live anywhere, some kind of free trade, no national borders, a kind of welfare state on a global scale.. imagine: our taxes paying for healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa.. the kind of international lifestyle of Philippines expats working for other countries... Basically what I would imagine would be like the UN on steroids..

I think my background in developmental economics is showing... ;P
