I think that introverts in general are the types who would just love hanging out online and discussing things. INFPs in particular would enjoy the chance to express themselves and make meaningful connections with others in a way that is more comfortable for them. Shy INFPs can be themselves more online. Plus, it's easier for us to communicate through writing. The internet is like the ideal place for us.

Wrong thread.

My bad.
I read somewhere that INFPs are estimated to be 4-5% of the population.
This is a common question on the forums. INxx types in general are relatively rare compared to ESxx types, but the forum is brimming with introverted intuitives. This leads some people to believe that many of the forum users are mistyped. Perhaps some of them are, but I don't think that's the explanation.

It makes sense to me that a forum like PerC would have a population that over-represents INxx types, because they are the types most likely to hang out on the internet talking about psychology.

There are many more ESxx types, but they're all out at a New Year's party right now. (I don't mean to actually make a gross generalization, but they are more likely to be out and about than inside typing on their computer.)

The internet as a form of interaction is less draining and so it is more appealing to introverts. :)
I think there are more INFPs out there in the world than most people realize.

Most INFPs here are probably some other type. Which can largely be...anything.

We are probably among the most likely to buy into the Myers Briggs and we travel in swarms. I also don't think there are THAT many of us on PerC.
The internet is global...

Why are there so many Muslims in mosques?
Why are there so many Muslims in mosques?
I dunno. So why are there so many muslims in mosques ?
What do I win if I get the answer correct? A washing machine, or a car ?? :proud:

I am feeling Bob Barkerish tonight so I'll cut you a deal. If you get it right you can have both, and if you get it wrong you can still have the washing machine. You see, the washing machine has been through too many cycles, and if you wash your white's in it they will turn blue. I mean very blue, and I would suggest you not use it unless tye-dye appeals to you.

This thread was in the INFJ forum recently. Because we long for connection with people, but at the same time, greatly value our independence. It is much easier to balance that on the internet. I don't have any obligations to anyone here, I can just come and go whenever. I never have to explain myself.

And most people are dull, and it is hard to find interesting people. The internet allows you to sift through people, be more selective. Find conversations you want to get involved in. In real life, I am totally controlled by my immediate environment, and hope to get lucky and find somebody interesting. You aren't trapped here. You control how you interact. Not the environment. Some dullard pins me down in real life and I gotta play nice and listen to him babble for 20 minutes. I never have to listen to shit I don't have to here.
Since you guys all can go to a place to relate to each other and such. Plus I think INFP/INFJ has tons of mistypes I can really relate to you guys on probably 80-90 percent of the threads here. I'm fairly sure I'm not an INFP though.

Come on down. You have just won a brand new car and washing machine. The equation to figure out the answer was,
(x+y)/(ab-cd)*(100+1)-4. It seems you may hold all the answers to life's questions, and I may need your help in the future.
