I want every Entj reading this post to look deep within you heart to find the main driving force in your life that gives you the strength to succeed.

Is it the love and willingness to change the parts of your life?

Is it your hatred of the people in your life and the world that drives you?

The other 15 types can take part in this investigation.

Thank you

Autonomy, understanding and mastery. In that order.

I don't consider myself very emotion driven. For me, positive feelings are side effects of success in these areas - they are not the goal.

Knowledge, truth and mastery are my three main drives.
Pretty much everything I want to do revolve around those, and without them I dont really know what Id be doing.
Probably something stupid.
Like knitting tea cozies.

It's competition. Only competition. Nothing else. I'm not driven by cooperation at all.

I have a need to be satisfied with my life. In particular, I need to reach a level of satisfaction with my career. I have very high standards set for myself. Falling short is not an option for me.

I do believe this isn't one of those unattainable satisfactions. I think I'll be able to reach it and retire leisurely.

These things drive me in life:

1) The want to succeed in life
2) Challenging situations
3) Overcoming such challenging situations
4) The pursuit of knowledge and understanding
5) The want to push myself to the limit and then break such limitations

Creating a better future for myself

I never look at things in the context of today. When I explore my options, I'm doing so to pick the one that I will find most useful in the future and when I define my opinions, I take a side that will be as universally truthful as possible because I'm no the kind of person who likes dealing with a list of exceptions. I consider future opportunities rather than happiness in every choice I make because to me, a promising future is the definition of happiness. For example, despite all of the publications and teachers urging students to choose universities that make them feel welcomed and not worrying about how much they cost - which is truly a terrible piece of advice as well as the reason the cost of attending can increase at the rate that it does and why so many recent grads have mountains of debt they will carry with them for years to come, I chose my university based on the requirements of best recruiting for my intended majors and cheap enough that I don't graduate with debt.

Chasing after my own (high?) standards. The fear that the moment I'm spoiling myself, that I'll settle for something easy and safe.. solely because it's easy and safe.

Impossible challenges. Give me something difficult, then turn the screw a little harder, harder, harder until it's considered impossible. That's when it's worth doing and the rush it brings when accomplished, is better than anything else on earth!

A year ago and for most of my life it was to reach the zenith of what I am capable of.

Now, it's to never reach it. Ultimately, my driving force is continuous growth; never plateauing in anything but reaching out for more.

Simply to "win" the game of life - expertise, success, legacy and a form of immortality (family, business, creation, etc.).

For me? Money power and status. I want to climb that ladder to the top. Don't really care about not getting there; if I am good enough I will, if i am not there and I might not be good enough. Either way they are fully justified.

The only goal that makes sense is to exist as long as possible.

That is ultimate. All other goals are subgoals.
