Hi there I was just wondering if the INFJ or similiar personality types have similar taste in music and movies:

Here is some stuff I like.. I tend to enjoy music with a lot of instruments... I probably prefer electronic but I love the electric guitar and drum&bass... I think I tend to love any kind of music that is seemingly complex and with many melodies/musical layers.. progressive electronic/rock are prob my fav:) However, any top 40 stuff is also great if you are hammered and dancing.. but that's just a guilty pleasure for me

Music: Iron and Wine, Goldfrapp, The Postal Service, The Knife, Hooverphonic, Emailiana Torrini, Portishead, Sia, Blonde Redhead, Squarepusher, Royksopp, Mum, Vincent Gallo, The Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Kanye West, Dungen, Dream Theatre, Magneta Lane, Mogwai, Lamb, Delerium, Leonard Cohen, The Dears, Bloc Party,The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, Fever Ray, Lady Gaga...

As for movies.. I enjoy long (trilogies are the best), seemingly boring movies that are very subtle and that you can watch multiple times because its layered like that... movies that focus on the characters and their interactions with reality..

Movies: Contact, Lost in Translation, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, Punch Drunk Love, The Machinist, L.I.E., Sideways, Baraka, Xiu Xiu: The sentdown girl, Croupier, Lolita, Trainspotting, Rounders, Pulp Fiction, Donnie Darko, American Psycho, Fear of Loathing in Las Vegas, Garden State, The Pianist, Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, In the Bedroom, Spring summer fall winer, Inglorious **stards , anything by Michel Gondry, The Last Life in the Universe

Unfortunately I went over both your list and our interests are almost polar opposites. I guess I like music with an edge. Its kind of hard to describe.

Here's what I like: Three Days Grace, There for Tomorrow, Sick Puppies, Slipknot, Skillet, Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Fall Out Boy, Bullet for my Valentine, 30 seconds to Mars, Paramore, Killswitch Engage

HATE RAP AND COUNTRY...sorry

As for movies, I saw a few that were alright, but none of my favs. I love war movies, sci-fi, or just documentaries about history or an important issue usually political in nature.

Here are some: Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, The Patriot, Apocalypse Now, Behind Enemy Lines, The Red Baron, Inconvenient Truth, Sicko, Future of Food, Wal-mart: The High Price of Low Cost, The Ground Truth, Enemy at the Gates, Shindler's List, The Goebbels Experiment, Letters to Iwo Jima, STAR WARS, The aviator, Charlie Wilson's War, Gods and Generals, many others

Hate Twilight!!!!!

It's sort of rare for me to find true enchantment in external entertainment... /it is hard to impress me/. u.u
I seem to like to made up my own things, or find the few things that match my internal image.
For entertainment, I like Ef ~ A Tale of Memories, Serial Experiments Lain, and Eraserhead. I also like to explore through images, quotes, and ideas.

I love instruments like bass, electric guitar, and drum. Also classic instruments (violin, etc, but not with trumpets)
My music style: Punk/skate punk, folk/thriller, emo, goth, metal, heavy/death metal, thrash, nu metal, alt, progressive rock (something bassy and dark like Radiohead), indie pop, pop rock, pop punk, and the mismatching ones: country, classical

I only love old rock musics (about 70s to early 2010s), because any kind of today's music didn't stole my heart.

My fav bands/singers:
t.A.t.u., My Chemical Romance, Paramore, New Found Glory, Avenged Sevenfold, blink-182, Sum 41, NOFX, Hawthorne Heights, All Time Low, Good Charlotte, Wheatus, Weezer, Avril Lavigne (but I didn't really like her newer music style like the Love Sux and Avril Lavigne's Extended Version album), Evanescence, Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens, Escape the Fate, Black Veil Brides, The Starting Line, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday, Green Day, Linkin Park, Radiohead, Muse, The Dead Kennedys, S*x Pistols, Limp Bizkit, Fall Out Boy, 30 Seconds To Mars, Ramones, The Offspring, S*x Bob-Omb (I know they weren't real), John Williams, Ennio Morricone

Fav movies: I know this is weird but I like sense-seeking movies (like SAW) and dark comedies, also cop/romance comedy. Think something Legally Blonde, Big Momma's House, White Chicks.
Maybe something:
-Cool thriller movies like A Simple Favor and Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill (both tragic, dark, calm and funny but with cartoony reactions and violence)
-Movies made for teenagers (Mean Girls, Descendants, Clueless) because they're really made me moody; happy, angry, and... a little bit sad.
-Good movies about friendship and family, mostly musical movies, like The Sound Of Music. The Parent Trap and Cheaper by the Dozen.

What i hate:

Music: Rap music like Nicki Minaj and Drake because mostly they contained a lot of explicit words in their music (I still love 00s rock rap), electronic, crunk, K-Pop, today's pop, 2020s newer version of pop punk, pop, acoustic with soft-sounded young girl; everything's from this decade.

Movies: Bollywood and Asian romance/horror movies, K-Drama, Indonesian dramas and movies containing children with poor conditions; actually I don't hate them, but they made me feeling bad.

As an INFJ, you know, I'm really different from others. It's hard to get normal people to understand what I actually mean. I also have different lifestyle from my peers.
2000s was my favourite era, even though I was born in 2010, because ALL of my favourite things are there.
My friend thinks I'm weird because I love those things; they think every Gen-Zs should wear, listen, and do everything's trending in this 2020s era. Act exactly like people in this era. Having TikTok account, dress up with an aesthetic type, do "modern" Bratz makeups, listening to newer music (at least MGK and Olivia Rodrigo if you love punk), etcetera. They think it's weird to do things like it's still 2000s.
