When life gives you lemons, you have choices. You can either:
A. Throw them back at life and demand oranges
B. Grow a lemon tree, or
C. Eat the lemons as they are
The reason why making lemonade isn't an option is because you were never told you get sugar. Lemonade without sugar is fucking disgusting.

Is the reason why we have divorces happen more often because we live longer lives?

When you think about it, in the ye olde days, it wasn't uncommon for people to be dying at 20 years old. People died left and right all the time. Heck, living to 40 was considered AWESOME and LUCKY.

I never want to end up in a relationship with someone who looks like me. Just saw some photos from an engagement party where the couple looked strikingly similar... and I wonder, what's that like... waking up in the morning, looking over and gazing happily at the love of your life who has the same nose and face shape and expression as yourself.... 'How did I get so lucky to find another me in this world?'

That's probably a really shallow and bitchy thing to say but it does genuinely strike me as odd. The woman really looked like the female version of the man!

Now I bet you life is going to make me fall in love with my doppelganger. Fate is always spiteful like that.

When I'm driving through cities of neighborhoods with houses door to door on each side of the street I always scan from house to house and think to my self, there's about a 100% chance that two people had sex in some part of that house at some point since the house was built. There's also a very good chance that at least two totally different people have had sex in the very same house, possibly the same room. I think of this as i pass several hundred homes and ponder the varieties of people living in each, while there is a good chance that as i drove by their house thinking of all this and the ridiculous math formulas my brain pretends to calculate and show me gigantic overwhelming numbers, some couple in a house i just drove past was in fact, having sex.

Know what I do when life gives me lemons? I squeeze them in its eyes. Teach that punk to mess with me.

Also, how much more advanced would our race be technologically if we had four digits on each hand instead of five? We would have eight fingers total, which would mean our counting system would probably be in base eight instead of base ten. Digital circuits and computers all utilize binary - base two. Binary is easily converted to octal - base eight. In fact, we would be able to represent a byte of data exactly on the fingers of both hands. Would this more intuitive connection between our counting system and the counting system of digital devices have made the inner working of the devices more understandable to more people, therefore widening the pool of people working on them at any given time and accelerating their development?

Frodo could have simply rode on an eagle to the mountain to destroy the ring, Sauron wouldn't have time to stop him in anyway and the movie would have been over in 15 minutes, 10's of thousands of people would have lived, and Arwin wouldn't even have had to leave "true love" in order to find out she would get a kid out of it and then come back just in time when her "true love" becomes ruler of a kingdom.

Oh and one of the most powerful wizards of the world wouldn't even have had to be trapped and powerless by water.

You know if the sun exploded we wouldn't even get to witness it, or be intrigued/fascinated by it.

Ever wonder if the world was completely drained of all water how many cars and boats we would find?

Ever wonder if dark is faster than light?

Part of me wants for the sick and diseased humans to be better, using our money we don't have on that instead of explosives.
Another part of me just wants a fucking disease to wipe out a good 2/3 (maybe even 3/4) of the population because of all of the stupid people in the world making eachother suffer.

-I wonder what that lady was doing before her visit to the gynecologist for him to find a Starburst wrapper up her Whoo-Ha?

-That lady is 40 years his senior. Now that he's 30, the terms are "Cougar and Cub". When he was 5, it was "Pedophilia" and their relationship would be frowned upon and she would definitely not get named after an awesome kitty.

Arnold Palmer iced tea is an awesome drink.
People trust the government too much because they're too lazy to fight for themselves.
I have two black hairs next to my left nipple and that's all the chest hair I can grow.
All I'm missing is a Hylian Shield and tights and I can go on a quest for a golden triangle (Master Sword is Wall Mounted).
I think that there needs to be a T-shirt with the no sign around a hand that says "Extremely Hot, Don't Touch While Operating"
My favorite gaming system, no matter what new systems I own, will always be the GameCube
I'm part Native American and the rest is all white races (French Canadian, Scottish, Welsh, Deutch, French) so technically I took my own land and hate myself for it

Think of how many houses could be built for homeless people with the Great Wall of China. A structure that does not deter invasion in a world where flight has been discovered.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get myself interested in reading about lexicography for class this week. Love words, love language...hate reading about the history of dictionaries.

It is 3:00, and I want it to be 5:00 so I can go home and bask in the weekend. Why you always gotta be so late, 5:00? You're wasting my flav-ah.

I won't be able to bask in the weekend much...I have to catch up on reading instead. And learning to catalog shit.

Is lexicography a more complex concept in linguistics than it is in computation theory? In computation, we just talk about "lexicographical order," and some programming languages have "lexical scoping" of variables.

Lexicography in the not-computation fields is a bit different - generally speaking, it's the compiling, editing, and writing of dictionaries. It's chief focus is more on dictionaries themselves rather than linguistics. But since dictionaries are books ABOUT language and vocabulary, you can certainly get into some of the "deeper stuff" dealing with the analysis of linguistic relationships - a lot of people do. There are people who also study the actual structure and components of dictionaries as well.

I can see how it would be interesting, but it's far too tedious for me.
