INTP, ENTP, or ENFP

Thanks for your patience! :)

How much of this seems INTP-ish?

-When making a decision I tend to make that decision (either by imagination or literally) first to test how it works, and if I don't like it, then I change my mind. For example, I keep changing what my personality type appears as on PerC.

-This is me in class...
Teacher - Coffee beans are acidic
Me - *thinks about it* Actually I think coffee is probably basic. Coffee is bitter, and bitter things are usually basic.
Teacher - I think it's acidic. I say that because it causes acid reflux.
Me - *thinks more about this but doesn't say any more. decides that coffee (or something in coffee) must be basic because the reaction between an acid (like stomach acid) and a base (like caffiene) would cause the sphyncter (sorry for spelling) between the stomach and the esophagus to not be able to stay closed and the stomach acid would leak into the esophagus and cause burning) doesn't know any of this for sure but thinks her theory makes sense enough. Makes a mental note to google the acidity of coffee later and perhaps google the causes of acid reflux too*
Teacher - *has been talking the whole time when I finally snap out of my thoughts*

-I can come up with many fresh ideas, but I can also take one and soar with it (in other words obsess over it until every detail is right)

-People tell me that I over-analyze things to the point where it's no longer a strength of mine but a weakness

-I can't decide wether I'm extroverted or introverted. I think I'm quite content with both.

-I'm excentric/quirky. I would be the person to dress up all crazy and stuff.

-I despise when people do things "by the book". I really do hate it. New ways of doing things are always good, even if they are more inefficient because I have more fun when things aren't the same all the time. I'm not into schedules, and tend to decide to do things very last minute and enjoy it more if it wasn't planned.

-I'm very touched by stories, especially ones my friends tell me.

-Brilliant ideas

-I love to lead.

-I've always been childish yet mature. I don't show my mature side to many people though. I frequently got frustrated when I was younger that kids wouldn't grow up as fast as I did.

-I don't take well to critisism....at all...

-People describe me as being authentic, not two-faced, ect...

-I get annoyed when things aren't perfect. I like to do things myself to make sure they're done right the first time. I will spend the time to make a PowerPoint look just right because I think it's the little details that make the biggest difference on the overall picture.

-I doubt things a lot. But I'm confident in myself

-I'm a happy person. I have a bubbly side and a very non-bubbly side too. I would say it's about 50-50 between the two.

-One of my favorite things to think about is the future. :)

Feel free to ask me questions if you need to know more.

Oh and one more thing. I think I might seem extroverted sometimes because I'm bold and I like to lead. But I don't think boldness has anything to do with E vs I
Hey, have you filled out the questionnaire? You'll probably get more responses once that's filled out :)

@KokuroNya

I have ideas, but typing people online can be difficult without enough info.
Please fill out Questionnaire in sticky thread section... I would be glad to take a look at it for you if/when posted.
I can smell ENFP from five miles away. You reek of the stuff. :p

1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
I overanalyze stuff alot. My thinking is introverted (I think) and my feeling is extroverted (I think. I say this because I take critisism too personally)

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
I want to start a medical mission and help people and have lots of fun and learn lots of cool things about other people/cultures/lifestyles (just saying, I think any personality type could want that) I also want to be open to everything. I like to consider other beliefs before shutting them completely down. That way, I have a better idea of WHY I believe something.

3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
I feel this way whenever I come up with a brilliant idea. I tend to shy away from recognition though. Like if I make a good poster/project for a class, I tend to avoid talking to the teacher for a few days so that they won't praise me for it.

4) What makes you feel inferior?
Being younger than everyone else. I've always been the youngest. =/
I also hate when other people are smarter than I am, but that's only with some people.

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
I like to make descisions based on what I want in my future. For example, I want to be a missionary-type person, therefore, I tend to make descisions now based on what I think a good person would do.
Haha that's probably not very helpful...

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
Everything must look good, make sense, and be perfect. I will take over if I think something isn't being done well.

7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
Whatchu talkin about? I have fun all dah time! :)
ummm...I can't think of anything specific right now.

8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
theorize/memorize/imagine/overanalyze

9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
Pretty well-organized I guess. But I'm not at all routine and my thoughts are kinda scattered usually

10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?
Both at the same time. I go back and forth until I understand the situation fully. I like exploring new ideas (even if I whole-heartedly don't agree with them) simply to understand why people believe what they believe.

11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?
I follow what I believe. Sometimes I don't consider others as well as I should.

12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?
All

13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?
I jump and then change my mind (after analyzing too much) and eventually I settle...jk...I only think I'm settled. I'm sure to change my mind again at some point.

14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do?
DVR the show and chill with my peeps

15) How do you act when you're stressed out?
I rarely get stressed out, but when I do, I rampantly look for Harry Potter's invisibility cloak.

16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
Introverted sensing. End of story.

17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?
anime, dreaming up stuff together, ideas, idk...anything I guess :)

18) What kind of things do pay the least attention to in your life
Sometimes the people around me. I lose sight of the little things and only see the big picture (in an overanalyzed way haha)

19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception? ? What would your friends never say about your personality ?
They all perceive me quite differently. The only one thing that I think all of my friends can agree on is that I'm a bit "blonde" sometimes. (I often fake being stupid so that I don't have to show off how smart I am. I like being the smartest in the room and having no one know that it's me)

20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?
depends on when you ask me. This week it would be writing. Last week it would have been tubing or other fun things. Next week it will probably be something new.

1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?

Fi can also analyze (but through rational ethics, not rational logic)... so not much here yet.
Taking criticism personally... could be either Fe/Fi.

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
I want to start a medical mission and help people and have lots of fun and learn lots of cool things about other people/cultures/lifestyles (just saying, I think any personality type could want that) I also want to be open to everything. Feelings. Caring for others. All over this one, lol. Still inconclusive for F or T, though.
Considering other beliefs and not mentioning your own suggests an orientation to the object in some way (external environment) instead of the subject (self/ego).

I'll include a link the bottom that explains this...

Vague... I can think of a few possibilities.
You don't want attention for fear of being in the spotlight?
You don't want to be praised for fear of feeling selfish (for attracting attention/praise to the self)?
Anything else? Mix? Etc.

4) What makes you feel inferior?
Being younger than everyone else. I've always been the youngest. =/
I also hate when other people are smarter than I am, but that's only with some people.

On not liking being Youngest: Based on social standards set by others? Suggests object orientation rather than subject orientation. But this could also be subjective Si. Idk.
NT's tend to admire/hate those smarter than them in some ways... it's a possibility, I guess.

You don't seem to have any problem thinking about long-term/future goals. You actually sound pretty comfortable and forward-looking.

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
Everything must look good, make sense, and be perfect. I will take over if I think something isn't being done well.

Sounds like a Pe/Ji or Ji/Pe type answer, since it's concerned with internal consistency and overall appearance ... rather than overall arrangement (type with Je as either 1st or 2nd)

7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
Whatchu talkin about? I have fun all dah time! :)
ummm...I can't think of anything specific right now.

Blah, lol

8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
theorize/memorize/imagine/overanalyze

N?
The way you picked these specific words and slashed them together implying equal weight makes me wanna think NP. Which would fit with (Pe/Ji) or (Ji/Pe). But idk.

9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
Pretty well-organized I guess. But I'm not at all routine and my thoughts are kinda scattered usually

Not enough here to generate any possibilities here...

Again, sounds like an exploring Pe function. Since this whole thing sounds like N answers... I'm leaning toward Ne-dom/Ne-aux.
Se wouldn't be impossible, unless you decide to rule it out.

11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?
I follow what I believe. Sometimes I don't consider others as well as I should.

Suggests NP/SJ config.
Obv, leaning to NP here, lol.
There's a lot about this one I don't wanna type out at the moment, but I could explain upon request.

16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
Introverted sensing. End of story.

BAM, so you're prolly not SJ. Lol

17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?

One-upmanship (your description sounds like signature strategic Ne). I do that, too. Shh.
Still unclear on T/F, but leaning toward T.

20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?

This might help. When I debate things, I tend to spell out the facts first and make sure everyone agrees on that, and then I take the facts and add a few therefores here and there.

All Kokuros are Hearts
No Hearts are Pigs
Therefore no Kokuros are Pigs! :)

The whole reason F/T is so hard for me is because I am easily touched and moved by things.

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?

I don't really like praise because it's so flattering that it makes me blush. Plus, if I already know that my teacher likes it, then there really isn't a need for me to hear them say why. Lastly, I don't find the result nearly as exciting as all the possibilties and ideas I have in the beginning.

4) What makes you feel inferior?
Being younger than everyone else. I've always been the youngest. =/
I also hate when other people are smarter than I am, but that's only with some people.

NT's tend to admire/hate those smarter than them in some ways... it's a possibility, I guess.

I don't like being the youngest because I'm underestimated. And the youngest ends up being the scapegoat for a lot of things. Usually I don't mind, but it'd be nice to not be at the bottom for once.

I don't like when people are smarter than I am because most people who are will think that they are always right when in reality, I can come up with cool ideas.

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)

@Agent Blackout

Oh so I was on my way to get the links you posted for resources when I noticed your thread and decided to read it. I've colored anything I agree with in purple. (this is what I mean when I say overanalyze haha). Stuff in brackets are my comments.

Background Info: As I was growing up, a lot of stressful events and people made me want to retreat. So I spent a lot of time alone, even though I may not have wanted to. At this point/age, I'm not entirely sure of my preference of introversion/extraversion (and if I'm already balanced, then I feel I may never know). Please keep this in mind when reading.

1)Why are you unsure of your type? (I changed this question to make it broader.)

Not sure if I'm unsure, and not sure of how sure I can be since I might have biases when assessing myself. I figured extra input wouldn't hurt.

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?

With this question, I interpret "What do you dream to achieve in life?" So I'll answer like that.

All in equal weight...
- To take care of everyone I love and care about by doing the best I can now to secure our futures in whatever ways possible.
- To make contributions broadly and deeply to the frontiers of human knowledge and create as great an impact as possible for the sake of bettering humanity and its future.
- Living and enjoying life to its fullest, and making this happen for everyone in my life.

3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way?

When I was a child. Free of burdens and limitations of capacity.
By this, I mean I could dream or do whatever I wanted (in terms of practicality/actualization) without feeling like it was "not going to happen in my lifetime" and "probably not by some kid who thinks he could be Einstein" as my dad would later say to me during high school.

4) What makes you feel inferior?

When someone who knows me well tells me I'm stupid/slow or anything like that.
It makes me wanna shut down. Fast.

When people who I care about do something awful to me and then lie to my face and tell me things like "your feelings are your own to handle" when they were directly responsible for me feeling that way.
For some reason, this makes me feel like I'm worthless, weak, and not worth knowing. [<--- that'slegit. I todally understand what you mean by that]

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)

My general way of doing things: Seek opportunities to move as efficiently as possible toward (usually long-range) goals I've decided upon, so long as doing this operates strictly within the confines of my standards and codes of ethics.

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?

Depends on the project. Every situation is different. I don’t like to stick to one way of doing things, just in case something better comes to mind or presents itself. I actually tend to do things in a way that allows or even prompts more opportunity or freedom to occur. I have no problem taking control and making set decisions, if that's what the situation calls for. Although, I tend to do just what's necessary, unless it's a project with personal value or investment. [I actually tend to go overboard on every project. I tend to turn every project into a complicated creative peice of art that gets accross the information in a way that is both efficient and widely comprehendable]

7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?

Going out with my ESTP brother and some friends on my 21st birthday. Best time of my Life. But I don't remember everything... LOL [My brother is ESTP too! :)]

8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)

Whatever works best. All, if necessary.

9) How organized do you think of yourself as?

LOL! Hahahaha!

Not really… [I'm more half-way in between]

10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?

Both are very important - but if it doesn’t have evidence, then it’s just a cool idea.

11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?

I like harmony. Harmony is good. I like to know others are doing well and are happy.
They belong where they want to belong, if at all. I follow what I believe and stand up for myself.

12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?

Each situation is different. Sometimes I feel I can afford to just say whatever comes to mind. Other times I say it in my head.
But I would think most everyone works this way… ? [I think you're right]

I haven’t noticed a specific preference, although I feel like my thoughts move MUCH faster without words.

13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?

Aaah! Again, each situation is different. No preference; the situation creates it.
Sometimes you can afford to think it through, other times you need to react.
And there’s a lot between those two options on that spectrum.

14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do? Depends on what they’re doing.

If I think show is better: Try to convince them to "watch this amazing fucking show that is better than whatever idea they’re trying to manifest", lol. If that doesn’t work, I’m still watching the show.

If I think their idea is better: get up and go (unless my bank account quietly tells me to stfu and resort to option 1.)

And even then, I still feel every scenario is different. Too many variables.

15) How do you act when you're stressed out?

Option 1: Find cause of stress and FIX IT. Then learn lessons from it.
Option 2: If this can’t happen, deal with it and learn lessons from it.

(And every scenario is different… you know the drill, lol)

16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?

Sometimes people have obvious negative imbalances. Other than that, I feel I’m pretty adjustable and can stand my ground so I don’t mind most people.

17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?

Anything complex or mind-boggling. (Sounds like a douche NT answer, but it is what it is)
Women, particularly ones I’m interested in. [except it's men not women]
Anything funny, especially stories.
Etc.
[I'd also like to add ideas. I love to talk about ideas and asking questions that force people to question and analyze]

18) What kind of things do you pay the least attention to in your life

Rules that make no sense or serve no purpose. [I could write a book about rules that serve no purpose. I share your distaste wholeheartedly!!]
Unless ignoring this interferes with social harmony, then I can adhere within reason.

Time often never exists to me. It’s a retarded ass concept.
I feel it might only exist because memory is cumulative… but idk that’s just some cool idea I came up with that has no evidence, lol. [I always thought I was strange for thinking like this. I'm glad I'm not the only one.]

I pay particular attention to anyone who I feel has no creativity and says “X can’t be done” even though I’m confident I can figure it out.
They motivate me like nothing else to make it happen. [I think it goes along with the whole If-you-tell-me-I'm-wrong-I-will-prove-myself-right-no-matter-what-the-cost thing]

19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception? ? What would your friends never say about your personality ?

I’ve been told I automatically adjust behaviors according to different people, groups, circles, etc
Quickly, too. And I automatically mesh behavior patterns when groups/people mix, etc. …. So everybody has a slightly different opinion of me.
Very weird. [I couldn't agree with this more!!]

But these are peoples’ observations. Particularly N’s notice this much more.
I haven’t noticed too much of this, but it sounds believable to me.

What is wrong about their perception? Idk, I never ask people what they think of me. Their actions and words tend to show it, anyway. I also feel it would be somewhat arrogant in some way to ask someone about yourself. Weird, I know. But that’s how it feels for me.

BUT I can tell you that I’m not as cold and detached like most people seem to have a consensus about. [I've never been called cold before, not that it hasn't been said. Although, people tend to come to me when they need someone to talk to or help them figure out what to do (especially guys)]

20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?

Each day’s conditions are different. (Such a unique answer… lol)
Maybe my friends are free maybe not. Maybe I have money to spend maybe not. Maybe this, maybe that, or not. Idk.

I do like going out. I don’t mind spending hours (alone or with friends, whatever) learning or reading new things. I might mix and match by calling similar-minded friends over for some beers and snacks while discussing things like my answer to 17. (You know the friends you go to when you might not really wanna be around people.)

On being in my cave, and going out: However much I do of one, I must do the same of the other shortly after. (Of course, the bank account contingency might keep me in a little more… Lol)

I sifted through the articles. No personality made sense for me except ENFP and ENTP. After that I read the article about Ti/Fe vs Fi/Te and I lean heavily towards Fi/Te.

So at this point I think it makes the most sense to say I'm an ENFP. ENTP is still a slight possibility; however, even as I was reading the recognizing inferior functions article for ENFP and ENTP, I leaned towards ENFP as well.

Progress, lol. Good stuff.

Keep in mind, ultimately only you can type yourself.

Based just off the conversation with the teacher, I would think ENTP. I have never before known an ENTP to make such astute analysis. But based off your cognitive function test, I would think ENFP. As far as the answers to your questions, I think they lean slightly toward ENTP just because they mention your desire for knowledge and make you appear somewhat intellectual. I don't think that the desire to go overseas and help people necessarily indicates NF. However, you have already stated that you relate more to Fi (but have not given any reasons for it), so I don't know. On the whole, ENFP makes sense, but that is based primarily just on your cognitive function test and your own self-analysis.
After sifting through I see no reason for you to doubt that your replies got Ne+Fi all over, with a bit of Te. It's true that I only you can type yourself, but this is my opinion. :proud:

Thirst for knowledge isn't bound to logic (Te or Ti).

Thanks everyone. I don't think I really can know at this point. Maybe I'll wait a few years to decide. :)
@KokuroNya, well why do you say that you identify with Fi and Te?
