Just the other day i came up with a theory that your favourite color is related to your personality. Of course, I base this on nothing.
When I was little I liked green. Then I switched to blue. I guess back then I was more in touch with my artistic and feely side.

I wear blue jeans and have blue eyes. I like blues music. I've got a few blue dress shirts (no t-shirts that I can recall).

If it weren't for my NFL loyalties, I'd probably like blue more.

I have a lot of artwork that's coloured blue, but maybe it's because, for some reason, whenever you buy sets of art materials (copic sketch markers and faber-castell polychromos pencils, in my case) the colours that you have the most of are usually blue and red.
I don't really have a favourite colour any more, probably because I started having more than one, but I personally like some shades of pink (FF00FF and something that I don't remember... it was a much lighter shade though), silver, and black.

I like orange. What does that say about me?
Well, obviously you're a flamboyant person who has fun being social. You have a good nature and are popular, even if you dramatize a bit. You can be fickle, but also try very hard to be agreeable.

I got this from the internet so we know it's true.

The same place has a few different ones for blue, blue-green, and turquoise.

Blue: Soft, soothing, compassionate and caring, Blue is the color of deliberation and introspection, conservatism and duty. Patient, persevering, conscientious, sensitive and self-controlled, Blues like to be admired for their steady character and wisdom. They are faithful, but are often worriers with somewhat inflexible beliefs and can be too cautious, and suspicious of flamboyant behavior.

I guess I can't fully trust you anymore - too flamboyant.

I figured that since they're complementary colors they'd be defined as opposites.

While you may not exhibit all the character traits of a personality color black as listed here, if black is your favorite color you will find yourself somewhere in the description. You may also find you exhibit some of the negative traits, particularly when you are stressed.

Having a personality color black as your favorite color means that prestige and power are important to you.

You are independent, strong-willed and determined and like to be in control of yourself and situations.

With a personality color black you may be conservative and conventional - black is restricting and contained.

You may be too serious for your own good - bring some colour into your life to lighten you up - life should be fun.

You may appear intimidating to even your closest colleagues and friends, with an authoritarian, demanding and dictatorial attitude.

You are non-emotional and give the appearance of a dignified and sophisticated person who is in total control - this is often a front as you may feel quite insecure in the company of sophisticated and cultured VIP's and upper class people.

You like to keep people at a distance, guarding your emotions and creating an impenetrable barrier between yourself and others.

You may be looking for protection from any negativity that surrounds you.

You may wish to create an aura of mystery and intrigue, as in the sexy black negligee.

You may be going through a stage of self-denial, not allowing pleasure and joy into your life.

You hold things inside and are not good at sharing yourself with others, possibly out of fear.

You are methodical in your work, making sure everything is completed as required, down to the last detail.

It may be a color of comfort to you, allowing you to retreat and hide from the real world.

You may be a teenager or young adult hiding behind black while searching for your own identity or your own true colors.

You may be rebelling against society or your family.

You may have lost sight of your direction in life and are going through a very negative phase.

You may be suppressing your own desires and aspirations.

You may be retreating behind black during a difficult time in your life such as a serious illness or a period of grief - black protects, allowing for a deep inner healing without interference from others.

Your deepest need is to have power and control in order to protect your emotional insecurities.

Cool story.

I like dark blue, black, beige, and light-denim blue. Purple is also a nice color.

When I was little my favorite color was green.

I don't think any of this has any scientific value haha. Of course more extraverted and feeler personalities will choose stuff like red and orange more, but whatever. There are lots of exceptions, and I don't know what the point is of being able to say "A lot of INTPs like blue." I mean... well... okay? Fine. And then? How can we improve the world/understand each other better with this new information? :')

The whole concept of 'personality types' is already very pseudo-scientific, and to add stuff like favorite colors to that only makes it even more sketchy.

Just the kind of thing someone who likes black, beige, and purple would say. Besides, pseudo-science can be fun. We're improving the world by saturating it with fun.
