Hi, I'm an ISTP

I took loads of tests and they always gave me a ISFJ/ISTJ but after researching and taking the cognitive function tests, I have a high Ti and Se, and the descriptions of ISTPs seem to fit me quite well. I've had an account on here for a little while but I mainly used it to find my type, and now I have :)

Is your type tall, dark, and handsome with a side of awesome?

Whatup. ISTP, former member of this site who lost his password and cant retrieve it. I'm really only typing this so I can get to 15 posts, so I can message someone. Good to be back(kind of). I've been on and off with MBTI, I'm on right now, might be off tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

Hi there I'm an ISTP too, and this is my first post here

I only recently discovered this whole MBTI thing and after taking the test and reading more about the types, I did get quite fascinated. And because I find it so interesting, I asked a few friends if they wanted to take the test too (cause thats just what I do if I find something interesting)

Hi all, another ISTP here. 34. Male. Married.

Childhood = frustrating school life + play / fun sports
Not a good student and suck at maths. Used to high five my bros in class when I got a pass.
Once a champion in badminton school competition. Used to play in the champion soccer team in college.

Somehow got into a respectable uni and study economics because I called up the dean that evening when the results came in and I told him I knew I didn't quite meet the results in their conditional offer but I really wanted to study in his faculty. Got in immediately.

Turns out economics is all about maths. Shit. Somehow managed to fool around and graduate when the financial crisis hit the world.... Couldn't find a job anywhere for a year. Depressed and felt so useless.

Never a long term planner myself. Got into the bankruptcy world after a few unrelated / related jobs and turns out I am the perfect guy with the right aptitudes for this industry. Don't love the job but don't hate it either just wanna do it right and justify my pay. 90% of the time is desk job boring as shit. But the other 10% is golden and that's where I stand out in fieldwork.

Once persuaded a bunch of triads to hand over 400,000 dollars and 3 trucks without getting beaten to shit (they thought the court sent me but no I wasn't but i didn't lie to them either). Once surrounded and grabbed by the throat by 4 dozens angry workers who was told suddenly they were out of a job, they thought I was some lackey their boss hired to clean up the mess (no the court sent us but construction workers did not give a shit anyway - fellow SP i suppose so understandable). Took care of 15,000+ bottles of wine without breaking anyone of them (each of them was someone else' wine) and gave most of them back to the owners. Dealt with the police and workers on strike at the same time alone out in the open in a typhoon..... This 10% makes it kinda worth it (I never told my wife about this).

Promoted to manager after 4 yrs, pay is good but now i am stuck at the desk 99.9% dealing with stupid mundane shit. Become a fat ass and can hardly run now. Fuck.

Been learning to paint miniatures for a year. Decent but not that good imo. I paint during lunchtime in office its too boring and too tired after work.

This is a good place to vent some steam.

O hai ISTPs, I'm an ESTP myself but I share a lot of things in common with you. @up Economics aren't "about maths", maths are just being used by some economists. Or by economical analysts. There are many tools which could be used to describe economy as a "science", but maths are just one of the many tools.
Man if you're not shitting us in the description of this triad event then congratulations on being a badass.

Hey, y'all. I joined this forum something like 9 years ago, was active for a few years, but I couldn't remember my username or password to save my life today when I felt like popping back in. Probably a good thing, to be honest, because who doesn't cringe when going through their internet interactions from 2010?

Anyway, I wonder who's still around from back in the day, not that we'd recognize each other... my memory is shit but I have generally positive feelings about this place.

Yoooo ISTP here... new to this site and I've been interested in the MBTI for a few years and yeah I was one of those ISTPs that got INTJ on the 1st test... to be honest that's because I ticked certain boxes that I wished to be... especially when one question said something like "Do you wish to be organised/disorganised?" and I leaned more to organised because I could do with being more organised like my girlfriend who's an ISFJ lol. But anyway... cool to be part of the forum and hopefully I'll come across like minded people who I struggle to come across in the real world.

Not really new here, but anyway I tested ISTP from the start, even though I got ISTJ a few times, and ISTp on socionics...
But that was because I want people to adhere to rules that are actually useful, otherwise things become a mess.
On the other hand I can be a mess myself, but working on it if I'm not lazy. There's still quite some to do.

Hello. I am probably an ISTP. I've been looking for forums to visit in my spare time to try and break off from a bad case of lurker's malignancy, and this one seems active. I have been interested in learning more about typology for some years. Not sure if I will stick around or not, but it seems useful to work toward having a post-count if so.

There is one...just not in the ISTP sub-forum. It's very informal around here...as you probably noticed, noobies just start posting, no introductions. I think it might be an ISTP thing, just jumping in, no preliminaries or pleasantries.

But, since you have broken from the norm, I'll roll with it. Welcome!

This ISTP is 22, who lives in Midwest America with her equally ISTP dad. I currently have no life, since I am a college student and also work a part-time job. I don't like hip hop and I'm not black either.

True haha, I kinda just started posting/replying to stuff without that introduction.

Hello, ISTP here. New to this website. 23 year old male, currently studying last year of medical school and working in the ICU for Covid patients during the pandemic. I've been into MBTI since I was a teenager, one of my best friends (INTJ) who is very into it, introduced it to me. My goal is to become a surgeon and work with Doctors Without Borders in Africa.
Always been very interested about martial arts for a long time and tried many but never stuck to one for long. Judo, karate, capoeira, krav maga... But since a year now started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and really loved it and feels like this time I'll stick to it. I'm into MMA and enjoy watching UFC with friends.
I am interested in philosophy but more its practical and applicable form, and been reading Stoicism.

I have been in a long-distance relationship with an ISTJ (22F) for almost 2 years. Every time we saw each other it was really exciting and intense and we traveled together a lot, but in the end, it was emotionally draining and the pandemic and closed borders ended it.

Now I feel like I want to learn lots of different skills and get new experiences, and I like to do a list of concrete objectives for myself. Recently learned how to crawl and is something I want to be really good at. Would like to learn how to ride a motorcycle and own one, take diving lessons, surfing, sailing, learn salsa/bachata, take a motorboat license, hiking in the mountains, take a survival course, skydiving..... the list goes on. Made a new friend who is a bartender and now learning a lot about mixology and how to make amazing drinks and cocktails which is a lot of fun.

I have tried to be more organized in my everyday life, be more efficient with my time. Made some progress but it really isn't natural. Especially in work, always tend to procrastinate until last minute, even during medical school. Had a whole semester to write my thesis, procrastinated like hell, and ended up having to write almost everything the last week before deadline. Wrote non stop the night before the deadline for 18h straight. Not very smart in retrospect...
