What do you guys think i am after ~300 posts? an istp, an intp? oir something else? I'm just curious what peple think after all of my posts thus far
We both know they don't exist in the same stack so I'm gonna be another pair of eyes on this.Well i was hoping that someone on here that regular sees my posts would have some insight. But to answer the question.
I honestly see a lot of Ne and Se
This is Ti not Ne. You find this in both INTP and ISTP. Maybe to the point of exhaustion is Ne, but I would like to see some sort of example of this other than "my brain thinks a bunch".Ne becuase im constantly comparing things to a data base of what ive gone over before and see the connections between ideas, admittedly this isnt as strong as it used to be when it was happening NON STOP to the point of mentally exhuasting myself. It still happens but i seem to be naturally tuning out of that channel.
Yeah I'd say that's pretty Se.For Se. This has been something of a rediscovery of myself, i used to be an avid cyclist, and im enjoying the "thrill of the moment" in regards to autocross and pushing my car to its limits, i can so in tune with what is going on with it i can feel exactly what everywheel/tire is doing.
So this is a moot point.I also like to make things, but they are unconventional as hell which is why i lean more towards a "weird intp" most of the ISTP stuff i see in the ISTP section is rather tame and very "grounded". I forget what section it was, but it had to do with what they were making and they were showing off what they were working on. Dont get me wrong they are making some pretty amazing things, i also had an istp friend that did similair things, every now and then he would just stop and "create" something for the sake of creating it. For me i have to really really really want something before i think about the actual making part. By the time ive actually gotten there ive planned out the entire concept in my head, came up with ideas to test out the implentation of my theoritical implementation of whatever concept im working on.
More general Ti stuff but I don't know if I could say this was specifically an N or S thing too.All this being said. i do like to design and create things, legos were a favorite of mine as a kid a, so were k'nex but to a lesser extent, however i was always heavily drawn to the future (think star trrek/star wars style technology) and what it can bring but i'd end up frustrated with them becuase i couldnt "have" those awesome future technologies yet so i eventually let go of alot of them to stop "teasing" myself with something i couldnt have. I was also very drawn to space in general. i still remember when i went to visit my great grandma i "found" a weird electronic toy in her closet that had all the planets of the solar system on it, each planet was like a button and when you pressed it it would repeat a fact about the planet. i remember i had almost every on it memorized at one point and i would walk around with it fascinated.
This is just a bunch of horoscoping tbh.Ive also tried to use a different method to narrow my type down. I try and use "type synergy" to see what what i get along with, i then compared that to what other types my guess for an MBTI "should" get along with. for example.
for example. ENTJ 10/10 pure mental crack/sex/ more please.
. ESTJ 7/10 is pretty damn good too, but i find they are completly stubborn and a bigger pain in the ass to get along with. But for conversation they are quite good.
INTJ 9/10 they just dont have the fieryness that na ENTJ does... the mental sex isnt as good for sure lol.
ISTJ is a bit with a wild card. If they are more on the laxed side and have an intelluctual interest i can get converse with them quite a bit.
ENTP. fun, big brains that are witty are fun to play.
ESTP. nemisis. Atleast the males. Thanks to having one as a coworker for almost two years ive gotten way better at dealing with their shit. ESTP females i gonna say i can get along with most of them. i can only think of a few that mightve been ESTP females that i outright loathed being around.
ISTP. my best friend was an ISTP. He was plenty intelectual, had a desire to do different things than me. Gave me a hard time growing up for being a clutz and very random at times. Im going to say me having fun with them is very dependany on IQ level.
NFP. dear god. i end up "bullying" the infps on accident. they say something, i point out how illogical it is. They get triggered and say some "becuase morals thing" its not very effective. i counter with logic and continue to hurt their feelings, i eventually snap and and ACTUALLY be a dick and say something hurtful on purpose....and now i have a broken INFP. :/
ENFP. bleh. i dont really care either way. my intj friend introduced me to one thinking we would be a good match nad oh lord... They are fun specks of sunshine, but i tend to find them "reckless" and want to correct them before they end up doing somethng thats gonna be... bad.
for example the aforemention enfp was recanting a story about how she nearly died in quick sand. ill try to recall it as best as i can.
"anyway, i was there sinking in the quick sand looking up at my dog bitch bitch (i think thats what she nickname her dog.) and shes just standing there not helping well im sinking, but then i turned around and "OMG TADPOLES!!" and i was fine!"
Thats the gist of what i remember. she was out looking for bugs (shes studying entomology)
Overall im not a fan of Fe. i found an ENFJ im my local enviroment and well i find her easy to talk to get connect with, i just dont care. Her daughter is a supposed infj i went school with and i dont particularly care there either. For me Fe just comes across as "fake"
SFP. ISFP. big maybe. ESFP. fuck no.
I went through all of that and i found that INTP is Polr with ESTP. explained so much.
INTP can be physical. I don't think enjoying nature is exclusive to one of the types. I think and INTP might be less inclined to it and more inclined to computer related subjects. What makes me think ISTP for you is you keep mentioning adrenaline. ISTP careers and such always comes up with military, cops, guns, athleticism, sports. There is a trend of outdoors and liking adrenaline that doesn't come up for other types. It isn't exclusive just a very high likelihood.Overall im debating ISTP just becuase i have a much better relationship with my enviroment than other INTPs. I dont mind making and creating physical things, i enjoy it. I like to push my luck physically as well. though this is mostly in regards to autocross which ive mentioned on here before.
I wouldn't use fictional characters, but try to look at statistics for types and career or hobbies.I personally dont think that disqualifies from INTP and makes me an ISTP though. When i look at say tony stark. a 100% garunteed ENTP. Hes VERY mechnically inclined. and his NE is present in his work by taking theoritical technologies and making the iron man suit.
Glad you see him as ENTP, because I thought I was the only one. Everyone keeps arguing INTP vs INTJ. It isn't that he has wacky ideas though. It is that he describes his brain as never turning off. He just constantly thinks of new things to do, try, or make, which is the Ne I've been looking for in you.Elon musk. another ENTP. kind of the same thing. Taking wacky ideas and making them work. and i think that is my hallmark thing that differentiates me from both ISTP (they dont go out on a limb far enough) and INTP (stereotypically not interested in these things at all.) I like taking wacky out there ideas and MAKING THEM.
Actually that's just generically a P thing. It could be Ne or Se.On the topic of making. I've started to remodel my house and my ISTJ pops pointed something out to me that was interesting.
He said i always have the end goal in mind but i dont think of what its going to take to get there. TO me that sreams NE>Si
I think a lot of your difficulty in coming to your conclusion is that you don't seem to know where Ti begins and ends. I mean for sure you are a P, but there wasn't anything to obviously saying you are Ne over Se.A couple of weeks before that i told my pops in a semi heated conversation. "have you EVER noticed we go about solving a problem in a different way? I start with a general idea and work in the details, you get the details and then work towards an idea"
Thats what i mean about the making and doing part of tony stark, yes i KNOW hes a fictional character. My point with him is that people type him as ENTP DESPITE how much he does in the way of mechanical/ hands on things. heres an example. For my work i do lots of hvac and the occasional plumbing, i got a lovely (sarcasm) ESTP coworker. anyway we had a clogged pipe that just REFUSED to unclog.I knew from previous entcounters that rust tends to clog the copper pipes. This particular heating unit was the worst clog weve had to deal with and as we are working on it im trying to think of some other way to fix it. i thought up a device that would surround the pipe in two rotating magnetic fields that would.INTP can be physical. I don't think enjoying nature is exclusive to one of the types. I think and INTP might be less inclined to it and more inclined to computer related subjects. What makes me think ISTP for you is you keep mentioning adrenaline. ISTP careers and such always comes up with military, cops, guns, athleticism, sports. well if i could pick my "ideal" career right now it would be mechanical enginering. I mostly enjoy designing and coming up with the idea on how to make something work. But not the execution so much.

The computer thing honestly seems like a trope to me. But to answer your question.I would guess you are ISTP. This is based off of what I have read in the MBTI Manual. There isn't really any mention of sports for INTP. Obviously they can go outside or be in shape, but sports are very low in priority. I have not read your other posts, but what would help is if you said your relationship to STEM and particularly computers and then more into sports.
This could be INTP or ISTP. It's just introverted thinking.well if i could pick my "ideal" career right now it would be mechanical enginering. I mostly enjoy designing and coming up with the idea on how to make something work. But not the execution so much.
It's a trope based on statistics which is like MBTI in a nutshell. The computer thing honestly seems like a trope to me. But to answer your question.
So this sounds more INTP than ISTP.Yes. I remember going down to my local computer store around 8/9th grade and picking up the computers that were going to be recycled and learning how to build them from there slowly make my own.
I hate programming, its incredibly tedious.
100% love technology, ever since i was a kid. any and everything about science growing up, it didnt matter what science subject it was. give me more (except the chemistry, i dropped that in highschool becuase the teacher was a sadist and wanted to give us a final so hard college students and teachers struggled with it, i already had more than enough science credits at that point becuase i was taking lots of science classes before that) know it all described me quite well when i was younger. (its worth noting im damn sure i had a stroke. aneurysm about 4-5 years ago that has severly affected cognitive function and led to lots of changes.) i tested very close to gifted when i was in elementary, i tend to pick thingsup quite quickly and just kinda passed all my classes without studying, i just damn near refused to do homework since it was redundant. I also scored damn near perfectly on the asvab when i was required to do it 2 times in my life. the only section i didnt do steller on was the english section. which was for the same reason i hate programming. syntax. i hate dealing with nitty gritty little details that can bite me in the butt, details have always been the bain of my existence. math would sometimes do this too.
I see.The only sport i kinda enjoyed in middle school was soccer. But i got into that because my friend group was into it and my entire class was only about 18 peopleout of which 2-3 were friends so eh. If i had to pick one that would be in, the only reason i got into cycling was becuase my parents made me ride my bike to school every day, it was that or take the bus. fuck being on a bus surrounded by people. Ill take the bike XD
Alright.I didnt care about vehicles until was in the market to buy one when i was about 23. My first vehicle was given to me but it finally gave up the ghost. So i started to think abotu something i would WANT to drive. did research, decided to go with a sports car, researched them relentless for aboue 1.5-2 years. (i live in a small town and dont usually need one to get to and from work so i could bide my time while i saved up for what i wanted) I finally got it. And i have been enjoying it ever since, i got into autocross becuase i have an underlying desire to excel at something and not just be a... poser that has something be cant use it, it also served another purpose being an idea i had to integrate on the enneagram, when i came up with this idea i thought i was a 6 (pretty sure im a 5) and i decided i need to "face a fear/ do more "body triad" things and this seemed like a way to accomlish many objectives at once. I startet do it and i loved it. Since ive done it ive gotten much more confident in my relationship with the physical world.
Yeah I wanted to get the scope of physicality and the academic. I can see INTP over ISTP now. You have a much broader reach in STEM than in the physical world. If you were an Se kind of person, you wouldn't say you do those things out of necessity or just when they come up you deal with them.As for working on it. I don't enjoy working on a car. there is nothing fun about it anywhere, working under one and dropping crap on yourself is no fun, having things NOT go like the instruction say... is not fun. Trying to figure out wth part it is people are talking about on a forum but not knowing is not fun. What i DO enjoy are the rewards from improving my vehicle.
Military was a very brief consideration. but i decided not too for same reason i ended up not doing maching in college (i didnt know what i wanted to do yet so i decided to just do what my dad did) im a ditz and i would end up getting hurt or in the miltary case. killed, i tend to zone out to easily.
I dont particularly care about guns for ownership or using one outside of say... camping. I saw a picture once of a guy who was mauled by a bear, no thanks! Not that i go camping anyways. so yeah, no point. Autocross is literally the only "adrenaline" thing i do.
Really i only see two things for ISTP.
A desire for going into mechanical engineering.
