I've read about people using Tinder to meet locals when they were on vacation. It's platonic, hanging out with locals. The women who did it had said that the local men were actually ok with being friendly.

I'm Canadian and last July, I went to Montreal a few days for the Just for Laughs Festival when they have all the best comedians in town doing shows. It was great. I'm going again the 23rd and 24th, at least.
It would have been even better if I had some people to hang around with there.
Just wondering if there's ever been vacation destinations in the past where people have met up?
If your goal is not "hooking up" as in ONS, there are plenty of friendly people on Tinder who may not say not to meeting you and doing some local stuff together (having dinner, going to a show or amusement park, museum etc.), as long you state your purpose up front.Tinder hmm? Thanks for the tip, Chanteuse.
I don't think I could pull it off. I don't have a selfie stick... and don't you have to be like David Hasselhoff to get liked or whatever?
I'm no Hoff.
