Hello all! I am Edwin aka Odontosouflaki :)

I subscribed yesterday and posted an introduction in the wrong thread I suppose, as no one reacted, a thread where you give answers in a certain format that was pinned?

However I see people post their introductions here as well so I will do it again in a more casual way I suppose :)

Just recently I have started my personality discovery according too the mainstream psychological evaluations, and it is my aim to discuss them and learn everything about it here in thhis forum, I ache for good information, and yes personal views and experiences are welcome to as it seems I am an ENTJ-A by Myers-Briggs, but of a social interests with Enneagram 8w7 (so/sx) and Socionics ENTp/99%ENTj but more LIE than ILE if I read the descriptions reflecting them to my personality.

At the moment I am also taking a Mensa test to see if I am a Highly Intelligent/High Sensitive Personality, as my contact seems to go much smoother and quicker with those who are like that. I speak 5 languages fluently, and 2 pretty good, but am able to understand about every dialect in those as well, and replicate them as my own tongue. So yes I am interested in linguistics, but also culture, various sorts of music, and psychology in general. Furthermore I am a scientist and have published a lot of work on ornithology, biology, ecology, veterinary science, wildlife rehabilitation and animal behavioural ecology. My personality fits also very well in my sexual preference as a D. Also education and social work are part of my main focus.

Doing the tests it is clear my logic is absurd high, but not superbly rational and have room for spiritualism, feeling, poetry, lots of humouristics - though it involves a lot of word-play, sarcasm, ironism and even clown-like :)
Generally I read people well and have a strong intuïtion for malicious behaviour, persistent trolling, and unfair judging and tend to be pretty blunt to those who confront me with that as I do not even want to have a discussion with them, merely because its a loss of time and totally not worth it. That said I am a loving, supportive and empowering person to those I feel that deserve it, though initially I trust anyone until they prove to be not worth the effort. Lies, ever lasting negitavism, manipulation for bad reasoons etc generally kill the trust.

For 13 years I have lived abroad in the Balkans, Asia Minor and the Levant, and have travelled to many places in the Paleartic part of the Old World. My personality is also open-minded, culture oriented, adaptive, curious and accepting and I can get along with a very large part of most societies, as humanity and nature are key to me.

I live in the Netherlands now and am trying (Corona keeps me from) to move to Turkey and live with my local girlfriend (ESFP-A/SEE), and start a new life there. Yes I am also adventurous and goal/future oriented but I love to enjoy the present, especially to do fieldwork with her with lots of action :)

And yes I am pretty old (47), but young enough (also feel like it) to start yet again, and trust my abilities.

I would love to discuss and compare with everyone ;) For a start people with either my, my girls kind of personality or something close would set me on a good path I believe! And personalities in combination with HI/HSP would be delightful :)

Thank you for taking the time to read all this rambling, and feel free to contact me, be well!

WELCOME!

I am a Host on PerC and glad to have you here! I am also a GenXer (I have you by 3 years) so you are in good company. May I ask what you do for a living that allows you to move about Europe and Asia-Minor so much? Also, can you share with us one thing you do well and one thing you'd like to improve?

As a Host, I am available for any guidance and questions. If I don't have an answer, hopefully I can point you in the right direction. I was always told by those wiser than me that it was not necessary to know everything, just know where to look it up. I sincerely hope you enjoy your PerC experience!

Thank you tanstaafl for your hearthly welcome :)

I work as a social worker for NT2, which are foreign citizens who settle in The Netherlands, and for those of any origin that are psychologically impaired in any sense, and help these people to adapt and live their lives well in our society. For them I am sometimes a buddy, or someone who advocates for them in any sense at intitutions like education, government, healthcare, work and the like. Sometimes whole families, for short or longer periods until they feel comfortable. The approach is empowering, to educate them and give them the strength and logic to cope on their own.

Also Europe is not so big really, and its pretty cheap travelling there, so its not really a big problem :)

For what I do well is that I am like a walking encyclopedia in 5 languages and can analyze pretty much everything really fast and implement it in their own language, both by tongue as by habit or traditions. That said I tend to solve anything I do have interest for and are thus very much able to combine many fields of expertise in logical ways and find links between sciences, humour, behaviour, even the intent of people.

What I would like to improve is the way I react to, and differ or finetune reaction, between unintended or intended subjects that make me jump or affect me emotionally, especially when people are dishonest to me, lie, manipulate, troll or are rude for no reason, either by word or deed, especially the narcist type people hit me hard, as they remind me of my own father mainly I suppose.

Other than that I am open-minded and hope to learn a lot more :)

Thank you again!
