Oh dear, I was afraid of this.

I moved to China. I had visited Beijing and Shanghai before, and thought this would be a marvelous opportunity! However, those places have a high population of English speakers and Western lifestyle. No one speaks English here. I have 3 Western coworkers, but I need more. I can't talk to those 3 all day every day -- I would drive them nuts!!

Have any of you ENFJ's gone through the same thing? I am trying so hard to learn Chinese, but some days it just tears my heart into pieces!!

Love you ALL

My French is nowhere near great. When I was in France I was in Paris all by myself and I had get to the airport and it was frustrating. Others countries I was okay. I can empathize with you. Maybe this is bad advice use your natural communication gifts as an ENFJ and focus more on body language and show active interest in their culture and I think you may be alright.

You brave soul, that would probably see me put in a padded room or at least talking to myself regularly lol.

Work extra as an English teacher? I did it a short while in Japan and it's a wonderful way to connect with people, especially one to one (which I prefer).

Haha, sometimes I feel brave and others I feel like a pansy! Thank you for the advice! You're right, JoJo -- even though I can't speak to people I can still communicate. I actually am teaching English! Classes keep getting delayed, so I haven't started yet. That is probably my problem. :-D I use this website for therapy when I get too lonely:wink:

Maybe you could do more than just talking, like what are your hobbies, do you like jogging and stuff like that? You could do that everyday to consume some of your energy, so you will have less energy for socialising.

I know how to say "I'm glad I met you", "Nice to meet you", and "I hope you have a good flight" if that helps! ;p
