In George Csicsery’s new documentary film "Counting From Infinity," Yitang Zhang, an unknown mathematician who surprised the math community with a major number theory proof in 2013 at the age of 58, discusses his difficulties finding work after earning his Ph.D. at Purdue University. During this initial job-hunting period, Zhang sometimes lived in his car, according to a friend, and at one point began working at another friend’s Subway sandwich restaurant.
