We all know the 4 temperaments, and the 16 types- but I have not seen a thread in any forum regarding the 10 subtypes that exist within the 4 sliding scales. Inclusion of these 10 subtypes within the 4 preference scales leads to an inclusive series of 400 preference possibilities.

This information may help people answer certain questions about their personalities due to "out of preference patterning". (This is called "OOPS". Seriously.) This is when one scores as an "N" for example, but may have a preference for an S characteristic- and attempts to explain why there are such ranges of behaviors within types.

This doesn't explain all personal differences, but may help people understand how they use their different ranges of temperaments, and might help people understand WHY one might encounter a "silent" extrovert, or a "gregarious" introvert.

In the following 4 posts- I will post each of the sub scales for the 4 major scales. This way you can discuss only the concept of the scales, or discuss concepts in any of the following 4 posts individually.

Extoversion-Introversion Subscales

Shown below are the 5 continuum scales for the Extrovert-Introvert preferences. Below each subtype are three descriptors to help the individual identify his or her preferences.
