What would each MBTI play in a concert band and why?

The Sections:
  • Conductor (Technically not an instrument, but still important)
  • Piccolo
  • 1st Flute
  • 2nd Flute
  • 1st Clarinet
  • 2nd Clarinet
  • 3rd Clarinet
  • Bass Clarinet
  • Alto Saxophone
  • Tenor Saxophone
  • Baritone Saxophone
  • Bassoon
  • 1st Horn
  • 2nd Horn
  • 3rd Horn
  • 4th Horn
  • 1st Trumpet
  • 2nd Trumpet
  • 3rd Trumpet
  • Low Brass
  • Percussion-Mallet Instruments
  • Percussion-Drums and Other

You can put a section with multiple MBTIs and vice versa.

ISTJ... played tenor sax in the school band from 4th thru 12th grades. Enjoyed it and was technically proficient but it never really felt like a "natural" thing for me... it always took work to be proficient. I put the horn in the case when I graduated high school and never touched it again.

Honestly, once I got to high school, the prime reason I was motivated to stayed involved with the band (and associated color guard, twirlers, flag team, etc) was more as a social outlet than anything. Every girl I ever dated came out of that group, including my wife.

Well, I can say, based entirely on my personal experience, that one of the INFJs in this world happens to play the alto sax. That person, interestingly enough, also happens to bear a striking resemblance to myself. In fact, there is a very good chance that the person in question is in fact me. So, yeah. Alto sax. Saxy.
