Hey everyone, another INFJ here...

I was typed as an INFP the first time I did the test. It wasn't until I met another INFP that I felt things were off and re-took the test, did more research and figured out I was an INFJ all along...or is it possible to hate someone of your own type?

My Socionics type is apparently ESI-ISFj...so that confirms that I'm an FJ not FP?
I'm also new to the Enneagram types - did two tests and definitely a type 5...though with a 6 or 4 wing..?

Anyways, I'm here to learn more about different personalities :)

Hi there! I'm also new here and funnily enough I'm also an INFJ with Enneagram type 5 wing 4! Didn't do a Socionics test yet...

To your question whether it is possible to hate someone of your own type: hate is a pretty strong feeling... In my case I don't hate anyone, someone must have done something very bad to me before I hate them. But I guess it is possible to not get along with someone even if he/she is your own type, probably due to different interests. (Or if the other person is in a negative state of his/her personality) I haven't met another INFJ in real life so I don't know. I suspect an old teacher of mine to be INFJ and we had some kind of special mental connection. (It's hard to explain)

Anyway, welcome! What kind of stuff are you interested in? :)

Hi :)

To explain better, I hated the overly-clingy, dependent aspect of INFP...which is very un-INFP. But of course, four letters aren't going to dictate someones personality...but it shouldn't be that far off the mark.
I kinda understand - a special connection where you understand each other and know their feelings deep down without saying much, kinda like a "twins" effect.

Like the typical INFJ & type 5, I like learning about things and being creative. So I dabble in Arts (music, languages, design, photography) and read up on stuff like DIY, psychology & sociology, and astronomy. Like the saying goes: Jack of all trades, Master of none. Working towards mastering many areas simultaneously.

How about yourself? What are you interested in?

(Woops, I got your question wrong, but I can understand that you would have a "that's not me at all!"-feeling)

You sound a lot like me! :D

I'm a game development student, and I'm having this "jack of all trades" thing too. It's a bit of a problem to me because in the game industry you need to be specialized in something to get through, but I like art and programming so I'm having a hard time choosing. My dream is to become an indie-developer one day! ;)

I studied Latin-Greek before doing game development, because I love languages, poetry, philosophy, psychology... (the typical INFJ things I guess, all about "ideas" :p). My love for computer drove me to gamedev.
I like a lot of different music, but I'm mostly into symphonic metal and alternative rock. I also sing and play the piano (I'm not very good but I like to vent by playing).

Naturally I like games, especially the story-driven ones. I also like multiplayer but I'm not very competitive and I mostly play with friends, because online gamer communities are often very toxic. :( I'm also fascinated by apps, technology, internet, geeky stuff... :p

Other than that I also enjoy writing (mostly poetry as a venting mechanism) and reading, drawing/painting/3D modeling. I also like the DIY-stuff but I mostly don't reach the point were I actually make things xD

Nice to meet you :)

Welcome! :)

A few things here:

1. It is actually possible to hate someone of your own type. There's unhealthy people of every type and also good and bad people of every type. It's also possible that this other INFP wasn't INFP at all. You'd have to tell us more about them.

2. Socionics is a little weird. If you are ISFj in Socionics then it correlates most with ISFP in MBTI. The introverted types switch the J and P around between systems. For example, I am a EII - INFj in Socionics, but INFP in MBTI.

3. Enneagram takes a lot of research to figure out your type for sure. I'd do reading on the motivations and fears behind each type before you settle.

Welcome welcome to Personality Café. Enjoy your time here and have a cup of Personality Coffee. ;o

No two INFP's are the same. There are healthy and unhealthy states to any personality type, and it's likely you've met the wrong end of the spectrum (unhealthy) as opposed to a healthy, balanced INFP.

Welcome fellow new INFJ! I spent quite a bit of time wondering about my judging/perceiving function as well. I'm a J though. I see how I fit that one much better now, especially with my enneagram 4w5 in mind. I'm still working on getting socionics down myself. Here I'll throw a few links on of some things you might appreciate.

As far as your question on 5w?, take a look here,

It wouldn't hurt (echoing StaceofBass)to double check to see if 5 is for sure your ennegram core and not a wing. I can say the exact thing you said up there for myself as an 4w5.

If you haven't taken a look at this site I would strongly say its worth reading. Very good, easy read, mbti type descriptions. It was the first INFJ type description to make me go 'Woh, thats me..."INFJ personality | 16 Personality Types

If you're looking to understand individual cognitive functions in your INFJ build up. On the side you'll see other Personality Psychology articles on socionics and the rest of them.

This is also an interesting look at as infj can vary a lot from one to another.
