Hello friends! This is my first ever forum so bear with me. :kitteh:
I thought this up while I was washing the dishes and I think that fellow INFPs, like myself, usually have the most trouble with self-esteem, but I guess it could be a general "NF" thing. With our heads in the clouds, we tend to see through distorted perception. (At least, I think so, but I am no expert.)

SO! Let's try and see ourselves from an objective point of view and list the three things we like most about ourselves. It can be something about your physical trait, a certain habit - anything that gives you a positive view on yourself. I'll go first. :proud:

1. Dimples - I've always been smiley growing up and my dimples are something of a legend, they're really deep ahaha. I guess its cute so I dunno.

2. Treating everyone the same - I put conscious effort of treating everyone I know and like with respect and general courtesy. I try. That's what counts. Trying. ;)

3. Authenticity - I know, in the long run and big picture, there are several people just like me. But in the immediate sense, I've always differed from other people and it's not something I appreciated enough until recently.

Your turn!

1. My ideas - getting them and seeing my ideas evolve into multiple layers.
2. My hunger for truth - I've learned a great deal of somber truths, but I would rather know these things than live in ignorance.
3. I'm a good listener - I'm I am more than willing to listen to the problems of others who are close acquaintances or friends. Not only that, but I'll also give them feedback and non-biased honesty.

1. My ideas - I like to come up with ideas all the time. Sure they are all wacky and often unrealistic but it's fun, and maybe one day useful.
2. My sense of humour (though sadly it doesn't bring everyone as much happiness as it does me! :( )
3. My good heart - I'm always told by my nearest and dearest that I'm a lovely guy, and for a long time I couldn't comprehend that. But after thinking about it, I realise I am a pretty good guy. No superman for sure, i could do more, but I care about the people I love, I like to help them, and I've even been known to help a stranger or two sometimes.
(I just wish I'd let my guard down a little and show that. I really think it would surprise people!)

1. I have a great mind. True, it gives me some shit, but I love it. I get the strangest ideas and can find the beauty/ugliness in most things. I have been told I act like I'm high, but I have never even tried drugs. I think it's pretty cool to have a mind that comes up with ideas that other people get high to try to come up with. Also my mind helps with get through school with minimal effort in most classes.

2. My eyes. They wide, animated, and expressive. The eyelashes are nice too. My eyes appear to be a different shade depending on what I'm looking at. They range from green to light blues. There is sometimes a bit of gray in there too.

3. My immune system. It fends off infections pretty well for me. I should get sick a lot more often considering all things that have gone in my mouth as a child. Even now, I chew on pen caps and I'm not all that concerned with germs. My immune system has worked pretty well for me.

Holy crap! You chew pens too?

I wonder if its an INFP thing. Every time I write, I always have a pen in my gob. (And I tend to use my mouth as a tool alot as well which must certainly look odd! XD)

I have to remember to bring my own pens all the time, because I really struggle not to chew someone's pen when I borrow it.
(sometimes it hovers over my mouth and I have to stop myself! XD)

1: My curiosity. I really want to know about all the secret things that happen around me just so that I can live a comfortable life. Anything from how electricity is generated and delivered to my house from miles away to the laws of gravity and all things space. I just want to learn all I can about as much as possible.

2: My personality. I've been told that contrary to my appearance, I'm a very kind person. I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt and draw my own conclusions of a person despite the opinions of other people, and when someone new comes into my life, be it a siblings friend or someone in a game, I try and make them feel welcomed.

3: As shallow as it may sound, my body. I'm very very lanky and I have a version of psoriasis, but I'm still happy with my physical appearance.

- I laugh at almost anything (except meanness/mocking).
- I love being childish (I see that as a positive thing) It's like I can balance maturity and playfulness.
- I can be counted on to tell it like I see it. I don't beat around the bush.

There's many more. :kitteh:

My taste in music. I happen to love music, and I think my perfectionism is what makes me strive to find the really good music that is out there. I'm very much into harmony. I tend to love songs that execute complex harmonies very well. I feel it's those songs I find that make myself and others believe I have great taste in music.

My appreciation for the simple things in life. I live for simple pleasures. I love the way little things come together to make a moment so perfect and enjoyable. I'll be sitting in front of a window on a warm, sunny day and a light breeze will come through and caress my cheek, causing this euphoric feeling to rush through me, making me feel that everything in life is all well and good. Moments like that are probably the #1 thing I love about life.

My calm nature. I very much have a calming nature that people often take to. I notice it rubs off on people I'm often around. Some people seem to really enjoy it and it becomes something they really like about me. Unfortunately, I don't think this is something that comes through on the internet, which is really a shame because I spend so much time on it.:frustrating:

My imaginative mind: I've been told by many people who have gotten to know me that I have a pretty good intellect. Unlike others who would get bored rather easily, I always found myself entertained by the universe that lived inside my head. Granted, my mind has gotten me into situations where people raise some eyebrows, or I unintentionally make people laugh when I was completely serious. But that's alright, I usually forget about events like that because I have imagination on my side. The bad thoughts go away, but come back when you least expect it.

My personality: In addition to a good mind, people have noted that I'm not as brash or bold as the other young men. That's not necessarily bad, but it has gotten me some respect as a person by everyone in general. If I ever was given a compliment, it would usually be coined: "Thank you, you're so sweet." or "He's such a good guy." I have the philosophy that everyone is a good person trying to survive in a mean world. So I treat everyone the way they like to be treated in return. And if Im talking to someone who has worse social awkwardness that I do, I listen to what they say even if it doesn't interest me.

My Talent: I'd like to make people smile one day with whatever abilities I have at my disposal. Even when I can't smile, I'll try my best to make other feel better about themselves.

Many of the things I like can be disliked by myself or others just as equally. This makes things interesting. I have an equal like for harmony and disharmony.

My music taste. I'm very open minded about music, and can like the "shallow" stuff and the "deep" stuff without getting elitist about it like many people seem to do in art. All those "this is real music, rap/pop/modern-whatever sucks!" people are annoying.

My want to feed my brain with knowledge that is good for it, or I think is good for it.

I completely agree haha. I've always had a wide variety of taste when it comes to music, I could listen to something corny and cheesy and absolutely horrid (S Club 7) and also enjoy something more deep and meaningful (Johnny Cash). I mean I get that some people "know their music", but it isn't about what's all that good or not, its what you enjoy and can dance/cry to... *cough* :kitteh:

1) My perseverance. No matter how many times I fall down, I (eventually) get back up.
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.” ~Albert Camus

2) Knowing that everyone, everything, in the Universe is connected, One.

3) My silliness. I love that my tendency to veer toward “the dark side” is balanced by my sense of humor. Laughter is my constant companion.

I really struggled with this. That's bad isn't it!

1. I like that I can hide my emotions if I need to
2. I like that I can sit and get lost in a conversation for hours with similar minds
3. I like that I can get lost in a book for hours and it's better than a film

Firstly, don't worry - I think we've been programmed to mull over things we hate about ourselves instead of being encouraged to think about things we do like about ourselves. And secondly, I like that 2nd one - I rarely really do this with people, I'm never on the same wavelength. When I'm discussing something with someone, like psychology or something, I usually end up being more passionate about the discussion than the other person or feel intimidated by the other person's passion and knowledge. I don't know why I do this to myself haha.

well... there is nothing I like about myself.. JK that probably would been me a few years ago or even on a really bad day.

But..

I love my..

1. Eyes- I always feel like my eyes tell a story or a mood that I am in at the moment.

2.My Personality- Well, I like the good sides of my personality when I am just not angry, sad, or feeling self pity. It usually fun, a bit more outgoing, helpful, and positive. This also includes the fun, crazy, weird, wacky, and beautifully weird side that just makes some people go.."is he on drugs?"

3.Last few hours - It kind of crazy weird my last few hours been like lately. I mean for some reason I woke up happy, excited, and like life is going to get better. It like I had this weird mind shift from last night that said everything going be alright. It okay to love myself even though I made mistakes. It okay to be happy, weird, and sad for a little bit. (Tears suddenly fall) I just so happy today, and hopefully for a long long time. I remember listen to a song that usually makes me cry not phase me, but then have a story in a movie about a sick father and son being by his side bring a tear to my eye. It was like everything was balanced for once and was going to be good.

:3

4. Poems- If the few hours don't count... well then my poems because they are real, kind of raw, and meant to show and bring a lot of emotion. It meant to bring the experience with you instead of some mischievous writing some may barely understand. Although, I love to write like that too at times it harder but making it more plain but descriptive is a good way to have people love something.
