Here are the top movies and documentaries I've viewed the last 6 months.

1. Prisoners

Psychological thriller with an all star cast-- lots of plot twists and unexpected turns. Highly reccomend.

2. Captain Phillips

Absolutely incredible drama staring Tom Hanks. The film was shot in with interesting documentary style shots which give it a nice intensity. This was a really nice film, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend you do.

3. Hotel Rwanda

Very few movies have the ability to make me feel connected enough to the story that I'm moved to tears. Don Cheadle's performance was emotional, convincing and powerful to say the least. Go watch this one, and bring a tissue.

4. Upstream Color

I waited a long time for this film to come to Netflix and it was well worth the wait. I'm a huge fan of Shane Caruth who wrote, directed, and stared in this movie. Caruth also composed the musical score. This movie is very unique in the abstract way it presents its plot. It may not be for everyone but I really enjoyed it and recomend it.

5. Blackfish
This documentary is very eye opening and offers an interesting look into what goes on at Sea World. Even if you have no interest in animal rights (like myself), you should watch this documentary.

Executive Decision is a pretty cool film from 1996.

For something a bit more recent, there's Sometimes Always Never (2018) or Good Sam (2019).

The Great Train Robbery (1903) is my favorite film that is more than 100 years old.

There is another film that I could recommend, but it is pornographic.
