What type of movies do you watch? What are top 3 favourite movies?

I really like political/historical movies but I love mob movies.
My top 3: Ocean's Eleven, Inglourious Basterds and Kill Bill Vol 1

When people are talking to me and start to quote movies, I always have to tell them to assume I've seen no movies. I have a very limited experience with film. I've seen all of Tarantino's work though and I love it, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was bitchin'.

One of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's films has to be in your top three.

For the rest...hmm.

Maybe Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Maybe Apocalypse Now. Clockwork Orange. Goonies. Tron. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Alien....

One of Stanley Kubrick's flims needs to be in your top three as well.

I'm in a very weird state with TV/movies right now. I've been watching the first season of Sliders and Xena on Netflix, along with old Kurosawa Samurai films. But I like basically all the genres and my tastes change so much depending on my current mood. In another month, I'll probably be watching Ghost Dog and Pi and the Shawshank Redemption. One of my favorite movies, however, is Jacob's Ladder. My current favorites series on TV is Game of Thrones.

My favorite movie is called Bunraku. It has Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Gakkt, and Ron Pearlman as the main characters. Kind of a Western samurai setting.

I'm not usually very picky with movies. I like to pick one I know nothing about regularly so that I can be surprised by everything in the movie. Just click something on Netflix without reading the description or anything.

I usually watch documentaries, but I also like historical movies and psychological thrillers. My favorite movie is called Defiance. It's about a group of Jews who built a community in a forest and joined up with the Russian army to fight against Germany. I also liked Shudder Island very much. I'll admit that I have a soft spot for Forrest Gump. I guess it brings out my Fe lol.

Haha, it all depends on my mood.

I'm really not a movie snob, and I watch pretty much any genre. Basically, I watch almost any movie that's considered 'good', and I watch any movie that's considered crap if it's popular just so I have a basis for discussion. For example, I'm thought Avatar and Transformers 2/3 were all crappy, but I watched them so I can discuss them with my friends. I also try to watch all the Oscar best picture nominees so that I can have a gauge of the difference between critics' taste and mine.

In terms of my favorite movies: Nausicaa, Laputa, Old Boy, Battle Royale, Casino. I'm really really into stuff from Studio Ghibli, and I find that I rewatch their films the most.

To me, a movie is supposed to be entertaining first and foremost. I can only stand to watch a documentary if the storytelling is entertaining while educating.

I don't know, I've watched way too many movies to make a top list, since all of them have different good sides to it. As far as TV series go, The Wire by far surpasses every series I've ever watched.

This makes me wonder...how many of us even go to movie theaters? The last time I went was about 2 years ago, and it was through force. The only movies I watch are those that randomly give on tv, but I don't have any affinity towards any.

I love you.

Well, I'm a bit of a movie freak. I've always loved movies. When I was a kid, I watched a movie at least every other day. So people come to be for movie knowledge quite a bit... I don't really have a favorite. Genre doesn't really matter, though romance isn't really my cup of tea.

Dexter, though.... Yes.

I go every freaking week. I can't even comprehend why I love it so much. Movies are like my comfort food, but it's not a food. If that makes sense.

I enjoy movies that portray a true realistic sense. I seek movies that have have well-developed characters and relationships between those characters. The Deer Hunter is one of my favorites. The realistic sense of the relationship between all of the characters makes for the intensity of the plot. The acting by Robert DeNiro and Christopher Walkens is impeccable. Schindler's List is another favorite.

My hatred of going to the movie theaters may stem from the fact that I used to be taken there every weekend when I was younger. With all the people, loud noise, and hectic atmosphere, I came to despise it. I do enjoy watching movies in the comfort of my own home though.

I enjoy slice of life movies. As Good as It Gets, Beginners, Amelie, Forrest Gump, City of God, The Big Lebowski, Up in the Air, Ikiru, etc.

I'm pretty much into anything that's good really, whether that means Korean drama, Science fiction, horror, or any of the other plethora of genres out there. I'd have a hard time naming just three movies I like more than the rest.

I appreciate almost every genre of movie (except Horror, its laughably pathetic). Its tough for me to give a top 3 because each movie delivers something different to the table, so I'll just list several favorites instead:

-Inception
-Children of Men
-The Dark Knight
-Ocean's Eleven
-Forgetting Sarah Marshall
-LotR trilogy
-The Shawshank Redemption
-Silence of the Lambs
-50/50

Lost in Translation (shut up), Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Shawshank Redemption, Children of Men, and a bunch of others I don't remember. I had a list at one point, but it got lost.

Almost forgot ponies!
