I'm very visual. And over these last couple of years, I seem to
have developed a terrible, terrible flaw in my male genes.

Apparently, if I'm all by myself watching a movie, a tv-show, or
even an anime, with moving scenery of loyalty, respect, hope,
courage, etc, etc, etc, I choke up and get all fucking watery in
my eyes. I can't even watch an episode of Bleach without having
to worry about this whiney little bitch inside of me coming out.
I watched freakin The Last Airbender, it's the dumbest, shittiest
movie I've watched in five years, and it nearly made me cry...
...throughout the entire movie!

How many of you can relate to this?
Even more importantly, how the hell do you turn this shit off?

It seems like I have to watch my shows with friends nearby so
that I'll be distracted from how moving it is. But I don't really
want to watch my shows with friends nearby because I can't
focus on the awesomeness of each show when I got people
jumping over the couch every five minutes because they 'need
to take a piss' or 'forgot something' or 'the phone is ringing'.

I don't really cry to that extent, but I do get choked up much more easily than others. Especially when watching movies/shows/anime, etc. Books too. Sometimes it's really annoying, and other times I watch/read these things over just to elicit those feelings again, if I really need a release.

What is my real problem is in intense conversations. Holy fuck. Whenever I talk of my dreams, beliefs, etc or listening to other people's problems I can't help but choke up. I try repress it too, and trying to speak when I'm holding it all in makes me sound really stupid. My voice gets really wavering. Sometimes the conversations aren't even deep really. It's just...UGH. I don't know. I feel kind of defected for having this problem.:frustrating:

All in all, I wish I knew how to turn it off too. Just saying I could relate.

So it can depend on whether we're visual, musical or interpersonal? Much to my belief.

Ugh. Yeah, I've kinda lost interest in watching movies and shows now after this happened,
especially now because it even appears when I'm watching romantic jibberish.

I don't like it though. I can't refer to it as crying. I have refer to it as choking up.

That would make sense. I wouldn't really know, but it does fit for me. Music is moving to me too, but I get more a sense of euphoria out of it than anything.

And that's depressing. Romantic jibberish hits me too. I feel like an idiot for it. :p

Hahaha, the movie was so bad, it made you cry! "Why, Shyamalan, why?!!"

But in all seriousness, just make sure you get enough sleep. I know I turn into a total crybaby when I haven't had enough sleep.

yeah, that movie was terrible. i liked the anime, and tried not to keep my hopes up.
but it was painfully horrible. shyamalan's such a good director too he could've done
much better, getting better actors for starters.

anyway,
i'm back to sleeping intervals and it has given me hallucinations again when i wake up,
so maybe that's it. maybe it does have something to do with sleep.

really about the only time i seem to "choke up" is when the subject of ghosts comes up. I hate it when people decide to talk about their little ghost stories. It creeps the hell out of me and I can barely sleep, not to mention the fact that I seem to start pouring tears while listening.

the only other time would be really sad movies and when im in really intense arguements
