It doesn't seem like you were getting much of a response, so...
Ne and Ni would be a bit different in types that use them secondarily...INFPs and ENFJs since they are primarily feeler types rather than intuiting types. --Are you sure you shouldn't try and decide whether or not you use Fi? That may be easier for you.--It's extremely hard, as you seem to realize, to describe either of the N functions without going into their accompanying judgment functions.
But...I have a long ass post about Ne at this link: http://personalitycafe.com/whats-my-personality-type/28356-i-cant-decide-if-im-infp-enfp.html
And it really is quite repetitive, but I think it will give you a good idea of what Ne is as the bulk of the descriptions I've read are just off and don't really even begin to capture Ne as an attitude. Again, Ne is different in secondary Ne-users, but I'm not sure exactly how. That should still help.
And the information that I copied and pasted and elaborated on were from pages that were describing Ne by itself. There were some NFPs who thanked that post of mine, so I'm assuming they could relate to it
And if that doesn't help at all, then just quote some of it and I can try to apply my understanding of Fi to it. Seriously, I can do that. It sounds fun lol.
