I was thinking about that all the ISFPs I've met in my life have no or barely any effect from smoking pot. Is it so with you as well or is it just a consequence in my life knowing such rare people?

Na, drinking cofee or drinking an energy drink doesnt do much for me either. I drink energy drink because of the taste and availability but if i'm feeling a bit average and drink it, its not like i will become more alert or anything. I'll stay the same.

The effects of smoking weed aren't dictated by what personality type you have.

Let's be honest, what are you expecting to feel when you smoke pot? An exhilarating roller-coaster rush of an adrenaline? Sorry, you're using the wrong drug. You're looking for acid. Different drugs effect different people differently.

The base set of feelings you'll get when smoking pot are this: increased heart-rate, bloodshot eyes, munchies, head-fuzziness and euphoria. Depending on what strain you smoke and HOW you smoke it will tell you how long the high will last and how intense it will be. If you smoke a joint and don't feel anything after the first 30 minutes you're either in denial or you rolled and packed the joint wrong.

I can tell you stories about how I nearly tripped out from smoking 3 different types of Sativa and hallucinated so hard that my friend turned into a locomotive, but what does it prove? Nothing. It was an awesome experience for me that I'll never be able to have again and never fully be able to express how amazing it was in writing to anyone else. Ever. There's beauty in that itself and a memory that will last forever. Just be cautious in wanting to chase that first exhilaration because you'll waste your entire life trying to experience that first 'high' all over again.

Well.. I do have a mild effect with weed.. Sharpened senses and mild hallucinations... But never actually reached the heights that I heard being described by my own friends.. And yes.. I inhale like hell... (Probably bcoz I smoke a lot..) :) Maybe Nothing to do with personality types though.. May be the weed sensor chip is missing.. :) just kidding..

I think it has quite a lot with personalities, because for me and all my NT friends smoking weed is like a different world, because it activates the sensing and feeling bit we don't have that much, but for SFs it should have way less effect as you probably live in this Sensing and Feeling world. I am a beginner in MBTI, but that is my theory. All ISFP when smoked weed with me when I used to smoke weed said that they have no effect, but just feel strange.

That was quite an explanation.. Nice theory.. We'll see if someone else has the same experience..

I believe it affects you depending on your personality type for sure. This is the lesson i learn whilst high the other night: Your personality type defines how you perceive the world. It is your world. an ENTJ and an ISFP view and interpenetrate the world in such totally opposite manners that it is hard for each other to get an grasp on how they view it!

Weed can make me into an E/I NTJ. It brings out all my shadow functions. It is a totally weird experience. At first it scared me. I see the world through a completely different perspective. If i concentrate on it to much it ruins the high.

However, i can ignore it to a large degree and enjoy all the other fun effects.

I only use weed as a tool for personal growth now. it helps me realise things i miss in my usually living in the moment world.

I believe that what I'm like when i'm sober, is what a lot of people strive to be like when they smoke weed. I don't know if it's just me or other ISFPs who agree with this? but I'm pretty confident in this.

I mean I've been accused of being high so much when I'm 100% sober. Getting absorbed by nature and the squirrels whilst riding my bike and causing me to fall off at the next curb is just common things for me. lol

Tolerance of drugs has a lot to do with intoversion/extroversion. Introverts are a lot more succeptable to the effects of brain-altering drugs.

When I drink caffiene I'm either in an entergetic mood, or I have major fatigue.
When I smoke, one hit and I'm gone. I just had the worst high of my life last weekend. I've never been so paranoid. I'd bet partly because I don't smoke too often.

Of course it depends on your frequency of use and your tolerance resulting from that.

I doubt it is personality that makes someone feel no effects, You have to take into consideration all other aspects of why they might not feel the effects first. For one i know it is very common for people who have tried it once and not even inhaled the stuff to act cocky and say....yeah it didn't even effect me, trying to sound like they are unique and different.

Also the fact most people think they inhale when they dont

You also have, did they actually get given weed? how sure can you be?

Did you smoke enough to feel the effects?

How many times have you done it before?

All these questions need answered.

I agree that the effects on the body may be experienced differently because of our personality, but it doesn't take away the fact that the THC and cannabinoids work in exactly the same way in the brain and on the body.

Well.. I suppose no one needs to brag when they are so desperately trying to get a high... Tolerance to certain strains could be a possible explanation..like for tobacco.. Somehow alcohol seems to always have an effect.. and a very pleasurable one... Need to try for better weed stains and increase the consumption...
