Polyamory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

OMG What is that???????? I didn't know acceptance of such practise existed    Interesting study.

Not for me, obviously, because of certain personal and spiritual beliefs.

In IMAGINATION world however, wouldn't it be nice if I could do polyamory with my second ex in real life and then with my INFP crushes online :crazy: Ahahahaha..And then with my favorite korean singers..Mm..Kim hyun joong *Drools*

I am not polyamorous. I have nothing against people who are, though, so long they are honest and let their partners love other people as well.

I remember seeing an episode about this on MTV (a long time ago, so hush!) and it was really interesting... Because the initiator of the polyamorous relationship are the most jealous of them all... For example, a gay guy decides to have a relationship with two other guys, and they all "loved" each other... However, the first gay guy gets to sleep in the same bed with one of them while the third one sleeps alone and cries himself to sleep every night. When the third guy offers to bring a fourth guy to balance them out, the initiator says no and is against it. It was so unfair.

Then there was a bisexual woman who is with a bisexual woman. The first bisexual woman has no problem with her bi girlfriend having a boyfriend, but god forbid her bi gf lets the first bi woman to have other boy or girlfriends... Ugh.

Am I missing something here?

As long as it doesn't turn into cheating and your partner is OK with it or is polyamorous himself/herself then I see nothing wrong with it. Different people have different psychological needs when it comes to love and sex.

It is not for me as I feel best if I dedicate 100% to the other person, but I used to know a girl who had several boyfriends and they seemed to be ok with it.

I know an INFP who I think is polyamorous. I imagine it would be really hard to find partners. I mean, most INFPs have problems finding one person they want to date, much less two or more who are willing to share

I'm certainly not, though. I'd definitely feel like I was committing a betrayal, and if someone I dated was with someone else at the time, I'd definitely feel betrayed.

It's just not for me though, I don't have a problem with other people's preferences. We all have different wants and needs.

I know about as many polyamorous people as I now monogamous people. I think it's great when people can discover and accept who they are. My partner and I practice sexual non-exclusivity, though I wouldn't describe us exactly as polyamorous. Neither of us is looking for or particularly wants multiple partners but there's nothing wrong with being attracted to and even wanting to pursue someone else while in a relationship. It's natural for a lot of people and doesn't have to mark the end of love in the other relationship or be a betrayal if everyone involved is accepting of it and open about all their feelings, positive and negative, in the relationship.

I'm monogamous- it's hard enough just getting one person, although having a girlfriend seems to draw girls like moth to flame and being single makes them avoid you like the plague.

To me, love is love regardless of gender, race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, social class, age, height, size, etc.

If three or more consenting adults have found each other physically, emotionally, soulfully, planets-aligning linearly type attractive, I don't see any problem with them sharing their lives together.

Personally, I see the more the merrier because the amount of support, motivation, and inspiration all parties give each other is unfathomable (assuming all members of the relationship are truly there for each other). I would classify this relationship as sexually and emotionally exclusively polygamous, restricted and available to only to the members of the circle.

Unfortunately, with the high number of divorce rates between two membered relationships, I highly doubt a 5-membered relationship is possible giving the nature of human jealousy, greed, revenge, and but not limited to poor communication.

It most certainly does not work for me. It is because of the way I approach my relationship. There can be only one.

I am interpreting the words 'what God brings together, no man shall separate' in a literal and in a metaphorical way. There may be many people out there you can show loving kindness toward, but there can only be one with whom your soul is eternally connected when seen in the greater scheme of reality.

I know some people for whom it seems to work, after a fashion.
But that is usually one sided and on the other side there is almost always someone getting hurt badly or about to get hurt. Usually, when polyamory is in the game, in then end everyone tends to get hurt.
I have never heard of a polyamorous relationship that worked for all.

I would do polyamory. well, i think it's a fair way to concile two loves, because it's completely possible to love two people, baby. They say it's not, but you can. I favour polyamory all the way, people.
And, yeah, Izzie, we all would do polyamory just for sex, I would! in fact, there's a show here, where there are a threesome, and I can't stop thinking how fun it must be to have something with two men at the same time xD (or even a girl, and a man).
So, you're playful too xDD
