Porn makes women targets of sexual desire. In most porn, they are not forced. Rather, they consent to the act and take pleasure in it. They show themselves shamelessly sexual and in love with carnal pleasure. I cannot see porn as being anything other than feminist.

I really always considered porn actresses as a superior kind of women who completely take their sexuality. Like godesses. They really know what it's like. i can't express it, but to me they're way way higher than us. They're not afraid. They have fun. They accept the way it is. They have it.

IMO, pro-porn feminists haven't completely thought through the issue, but they're certainly entitled to their opinions.

I anticipate this thread to be largely the same. Enjoy.

It depends how you classify feminists really, I'm a guy so don't have that much to voice about it, but to me they're embracing female sexuality, hence feminists.

I have absolutely no idea how someone can support the horribly exploitative pornography industry and also claim to be a feminist. It's like claiming to be a Christian who thinks ultimate salvation lies with Satan.

But we are not discussing the industry, any industry can be corrupt or misogynistic .

Porn itself does not seem like it would be in opposition to feminism.

That's fair enough, I don't think there's anything inherently anti-feminist about viewing erotic material in a vacuum. I'm just speaking about most of the pornography that actually exists out there, which is pretty bad in regards to what it says about sex, women, gender roles, relationships, etc.

I am a straight women that thinks I should have the same rights as a man. I enjoy porn often and normally it is lesbian porn. Women in porn have my respect.

The words in bold-face seem to contradict each other, do you mind elaborating?

I like men. I date and have sex with men. But I like lesbian porn sometimes I watch hetero porn but I guess I find women more attractive? I do not consider myself bisexual because I haven't had real sexual relations with a women and do not know how I would respond. Sometimes I think I just might be an overly sexual being that will just get sexual pleasure from where ever. Ew i know. blah blah....

Back on topic: I can see how people would think porn is anti-feminist because porn is mainly used by men to aid in pleasing themselves. In this way the women are seen as objects and not as equals.

In my opinion pornography is very wide though, it seems to me that when people who are anti-pornography they are discussing it in regards to the mainstream pornstars, and very attractive women in their 20's and thirties, but what about all the other genres of porn, amateur porn, midget porn (don't know the pc term there) porn with elderly ladies, big women etc, these are regular people not seemingly in it for the money or glorified status of pornstar, but just like sex and are exhibitionistic. I find it sad when someone berates a person who like Nina Hartley has willingly chosen to go into porn, has no baggage that has influenced her choice, and sees her and others in the industry as women without the ability to literally think for themselves or make choices that make them happy, which they do.
