Greetings prodigious PerC dwellers!

So I was browsing through the community and noticed that we’ve never had an official PersonalityCafe contest. So here you go!

Contest:
Provide 1 fantastic/creative idea for a future contest.

Rules:

  1. Provide any contest idea relevant to personality development (MBTI, Enneagram, Psychology etc.) or PersonalityCafe.com.
  2. Only 1 contest idea entry per member, so think long and hard!
  3. When posting your entry, please be descriptive. Provide as much details as possible.
  4. No duplicates! So if an idea you had has already been entered, you cannot input the same entry!
  5. Only users with 25+ or more post may enter this contest.
  6. ONLY post entries in this thread! Any other post that is not an entry will be deleted. If persistence to derail the thread consistently occurs, corrective measures will be taken.

Winners

  1. 1 winner will be chosen according to the number of “Thanks” they receive. Note that this program is still being tested. So if it does not work to our expectations, we will find a new way of determining the winner. Though, realize that we have ways of determining if people are cheating. It will not be worth it! So please Play Fair!
  2. If a tie occurs, we will have a face off via anonymous poll voting thread.

Prize
Any size and gender T-Shirt with PersonalityCafe logo and your username on it. I'll be adding an image of it as soon as I get the t-shirt. (More options for prizes in the future!)

Contest End Date:
December 31, 2010

Please note that even though you do not win this contest, we might use your idea for future contest events. The purpose of this thread is to gather up and compile the best contest ideas for the future!

If you have any questions or concerns, please utilize this thread...

Looking forward to your entries!

I would like a contest where the participants try to write the best description of one of the following:

• Any of the 16 personality types.
• A comparison between two directions of the same function - Ti vs Te for example, or Si vs Se.
• A comparison between two opposing functions with the same direction - Te vs Fe for example, or Ni vs Si.

This would be a good contest because most of us have definitions and theories about the functions, but there are a lot of inconsistencies and questions about function order and the types. We would end up with a lot of new theories and typology material, and we would have fun in the process. Some sort of award for the winner would be a good reason for creating awesome type descriptors.

Also, we could add a new area to the site with a typological wiki or something, making this website more useful from a research perspective.

Just off the top of my head.. maybe a contest for a short visual story - video, comic strip, song or anything that sums up your type (or you, along with your type) or better yet, something that allows everyone to use whatever skills they have. I haven't thought about this enough for me to go into any more detail than that...
I've got it! The fantastic/creative idea for a future contest should be that we have to come up with a fantastic/creative idea for a future contest!

I love paradoxes.

Please don't delete :blushed:

Hello, ladies and gentlemen of Personality Cafe. I am Coke, a fairly new member, and here's my idea for a contest.

===

Pre-requisites: acknowledgment of your own type; satisfactory familiarity with your own type; and a passion for MBTI.
Contest: Obtain a picture somehow that best seems to fit your personality type. After doing so, write a caption for the image with your type written significantly larger. Happy will start a thread and the participants will post up their work. The winner is the member with the most "Thanks."

In keeping with the season, have everybody write up one small Christmas wish list for each of the 16 types (or, alternatively, the four temperaments). For instance, have the ISFPs wish for musical instruments and easels, the ESTJs wish for shelves and organizers, and the INTJs wish for science experiment kits and such. There can be two prizes - one for the funniest/most exagerrated set of lists, and one for the most accurate or true.

How about writing a story with characters from all 16 MBTI types (or all 9 enneagram types). The winner would be the person with the most entertaining story who also most accurately depicts all of the types without being overly stereotypical or biased.

Associate each of the 16 MBTI personality types with a piece of clothing or object from your every day life.

Eg. ENFPs = socks (because they're warm)
ISFP = make up (they're artists)

How about this:

Present the most entertaining story exemplifying your personality MBTI Type! That should be easy, fun, and everyone can participate! =)

How about a contest to design a new color scheme for PerC?

I'm sick of looking at brown.

Ps. Please design an algorithm to compensate for the votes I won't get for posting so late.

How about one to recuit members for PerC? We could even assign point values for the rarer the type you get on here, like 1 for an INFP to 16 for an ESFJ.

(I think ESFJ is the least common on the forum, right?)
