Life is too short to live somebody else's dream

Never stop being curious (my own quote haha)

What is essential is invisible to the eye (favorite quote)

Always do with what scares you cos that's the one thing that can help you grow

Beauty is fleeting and charm is deceptive but the one who fears the Lord is to be praised

Love is always better than fear (again my own quote)

The finest thing in life are those that money can't buy

Money are numbers and numbers never end. If we base our happiness from money then our quest for happiness will never end.

So much for science... Guess the great Tolkien doesn't need ink, among other things.

Heh. I debated explaining what it means at least to me in my original post, as I had an inkling someone would bring this up...

The context of the quote is when Gandalf and Saruman speak of his robes showing all colours; he is no longer Saruman the white. Saruman speaks of breaking the white light, to which Gandalf replies something along the lines of 'it is then no longer white', which to me references the light of the trees and their destruction. Just as Gandalf's words were rather specific (in my understanding), this quote is not to be applied broadly. I relate it to specific things; when something is astounding, useful and remarkable on its own, and in your process to understand it, you render it useless and utterly destroyed and achieve nothing but destruction for the sake of your greed or lust - you 'left the path of wisdom'.
