My favs are:

-Jim Jarmusch movies-Night on Earth being my favorite-be warned, they are artsy though. If you like Mr. Hiddleston (as your avatar implies) Only Lovers Left Alive is a Jim Jarmusch movie.
-High Fidelity- I loved Nick Hornby's book and it did not lose much my changing location from London to Chicago. It was really well cast.
-Serenity (preferably watch the Firefly series before)-Joss Whedon at his best. This was a case of a show that was canceled way to early.
-200 Cigarettes- It follows several different people in 1980 in NYC on New Years Eve. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. It is funny and quirky.
-Harold and Kumar go to White Caste-As dumb as that movie sounds, I have never laughed so much in my life. If Kumar is not an ENTP, I'd eat my shirt. Neil Patrick Harris (supposedly playing himself) was the best.
-Anything Marvel but guessing by your avatar, you have already seen them. They are just fun to watch. I am particularly fond of the more Shakespearean Thor over the more war movie Captain America but they all are good. I read the Thor/Journey Into Mystery comics so I am partial to them.

Thanks for the effort but can you offer anything less...serious?

High Fidelity, Harold and Kumar, and 200 Cigarettes are all comedies. Jack Black is Barry in High Fidelity, although admittedly, he has the funniest lines.

Or are you being facetious? Always hard to tell in written form.

@Geonerd I love you because you said to watch Firefly and then Serenity. :)

Comedies:
- A Fish Called Wanda
- Death to Smoochie
- Airplane! (1980)
- Weekend and Berney's
- Rush Hour (or anything with Jackie Chan)
- Pirate Radio (in the UK called The Boat that Rocked)
- Top Secret!
- The Princess Bride
- Year One (Jack Black makes fun of the Bible a lot)

Not Comedies:
- Primer (time travel)
- Amelie (French art film)
- Ever After (Cinderella story romance)
- Howl's Moving Castle (anime art film)
- Metropolis (black and white art film)
- It Happened One Night (black and white romantic comedy ok I lied)
- Across the Universe (based on The Beatles music, very trippy)
- The Hunger Games (honestly it was really cool)

Great list. I love me some Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. Firefly was so well written. Who doesn't love space cowboys?
I find every time I watch Airplane! I notice something different.
I can't eat crème brulee without thinking of Amelie.

The Hunger Games are very good movies (and books). I think people (especially men) are afraid they are YA romance lit like Twilight when really they are more like mind game war movies with a heroine who is so hardened that it is almost impossible for her to love.

TV Shows:

30 Rock
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Basically anything written by Tina Fey (she is whip smart and witty)
Firefly obv. or anything from Joss Whedon (an ENTP)
Orphan Black (SO INTERESTING)
Twin Peaks
Hannibal (if you like Hitchcock thrillers this is for you)
Wonderfalls
... Or anything from Bryan Fuller because really he is the best.

Movies:

Coherence (really interesting sci-fi about multiple universes)
Vertigo (My personal Hitchcock favorite)
Office Space
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Airplane!
The One I Love
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imporium
The Double

... I'm sure there's more I just can't think of any
