I'm going into mortuary science. I wanted to be an embalmer for a long time, but honestly, I didn't know how my family was going to react. It was until my father brought it up and asked me if I was interested that I finally said something. I'm glad I did.

Why do I want to go into embalming? Well, having the responsibility to make someone that I've never met into the person their loved ones remember is an important job that deserves respect. I see it as bringing dignity and respect to those who have passed. I would like to bring what comfort I can give to those who are grieving, as well. Most of the time, families want a listening ear. It may sound like a small thing, but it really does help families. People grieve in different ways, so that's why it's important to be a listening ear and allow them to express how they feel.

Seems like an uncommon field, at least from where I am now.

Nonetheless it's good that you've decided on what you want to do. All the best! :D
