So I've been going across the type specific boards asking various type specific questions to get a better perspective and learn a bit more about each type. INTPs have a particularly special place in my heart. I know two who i love very much, and while being INTPs very clearly, they are both very very different people. One is very very interested in politics, history and world events. It's actually quite baffling and defies the stereotype. The other is rather interested in writing, literature and language, and acts a tad different socially. I love both of them with all my heart. In honesty I may have more questions for you than most of the other types, but I will hold my curiosity for the sake of equality. for now. I eagerly await your responses. <3

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:
What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
7: What's your biggest fear?
8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*

1: Do you consider yourself creative?
Yes and no, I think I used to be a lot more creative when I was younger, something about being an adult just saps the imagination right out of you. Still, I do a lot with photography and interior decorating. I like everything to be earthy and pretty.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
A lot of rejection, mostly from kids at school and my parents. My brother was always particularly supportive and my dad was only supportive if he was in the mood to be. Which is almost never. My mom is a pretty average person, supportive and kind and empathetic but will rip your heart out if she's mad at you. I spent the majority of my childhood being isolated out of the crowd. I was fortunate that my parents didn't go through too many financial struggles, though.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? What's your favorite field of knowledge?
I specialize only to a degree, I never master anything just get a strong working knowledge then move onto the next item. My favorite field of knowledge is in animal care, and subsequently, that is my broadest field of knowledge as well. Specifically, animal psychology is the most interesting.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so I have additional questions:
No, philosophy is abhorrent.
What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
I believe it's better to not care whether or not there is a greater goal in life. If there is one it's outside of our reach and nothing we can really do about it.
Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurrence of it?
Good question. Really depends on the angle you look at it. We are a result of neurons firing and genetics, considering most of the major mental illnesses are visible on an MRI you could argue that we have limited free will if any, on the other hand, behavioral and cognitive therapies, have a good track record and we can make choices based off of facts, therefore we have free will.
Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
I don't really see a difference here. We are the sum of our actions and our impact is the results of these actions. Yes, should be judged on both as one directly affects the latter.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I don't know what gets me out of bed in the mornings. My passions are very limited. I love two things, money and animals. Animals don't make money so I need to make money in order to care for animals. But nothing really gets me out of bed- I love my bed. It's a great place to be.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
Dr House

7: What's your biggest fear?
Being indefinitely unhappy.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs, while reserved in person, are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
This forum is the best example of how quickly INTP's can derail serious conversations and run off the more sensitive F types with their dark humor.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
My favorite people have always been ENFP's. In my experience, they're smart and pull me out of my shell without being intrusive (usually) and I can never completely understand them which makes them constantly interesting.

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*
I think it depends on the INTP and the situation.
If someone tells me they want me to listen and not offer solutions, I can do that. But my first instinct is to be cold, analyze the situation and tell them how they can help themselves. Offering a shoulder to cry on is not my go-to. Often times F types feel I should know when to use what by gauging their body language alone (mind-reading if you ask me), but I honestly don't. I can't get a good read on people- sometimes even people I'm close to. Whenever someone needs a shoulder to cry on and I offer it- it's a shot in the dark on my end.
I think it's empathy that's the bigger issue than sympathy. Anyone can sympathize on the surface, but to accurately read people, react appropriately and to be completely sincere about it.... that's hard.

Sorry for my short answers in advance; I already know I will be giving short answers given the number of questions:

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
No, although some people say I am in certain situations, like I can improvise some ideas very quickly.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
I was shy and was told I was shy and that didn't exactly help. Nobody was really on my side, so I have learned it really is a (rough) jungle out there fairly quickly.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
No. I specialise in something until I cannot poke anymore and then move on to something else.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:
See my username. No additional questions allowed.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I don't have any. Fear.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
I consider myself fictional sometimes to cope with reality.

7: What's your biggest fear?
Fear itself.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
Outgoing if my shell is somehow broken, though fairly rare.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
They are ok.

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.

More than most, less than some. Oh, you said "consider". No, I consider myself "normal" in most aspects despite evidence to the contrary.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?

Most are connected with "trying to fit in". And non-existent-Ne-ISTJ-dad, I guess. Made little room for connection.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?

Nope. I'm the jack of many trades, but master of none. Favorite field of knowledge is probably psychology and the aspect of competitiveness... which probably is a small branch within psychology come to think of it.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:
What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
I do enjoy philosophy unless it gets repetitive and without progression.

Meaning of life, or "whatever makes my life objectively worthwhile" as I think of it, is that you tip the equilibrium in your and other people's favor. In other words: Do good.

Whether life has intrinsic meaning or not depends on the individual. In other words: No.

Even if determinism was real and legit, you still have the freedom to do whatever you want. The fact that the decision was in a way already made doesn't mean that you didn't choose it. Humans are small compared to cosmos, but even freedom in illusion is freedom when it gets you the results you're looking for, and it does.

Neither, except in court, and then it should be based purely on action, the technicality. Other than that they should be judged by whatever action you have good reasons to believe they're gonna make. Which is usually tied up with both the others, but there's usually more to a person's motivation and liability than certain actions and whatever results that bring.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?

The smell of bacon, mostly.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?

No one that I identify completely with, but the closest one that I can come up with is Mat Cauthon, which is my avatar. He's an ESTP though, oddly enough.

7: What's your biggest fear?

Realizing that I'm dumb as a stump.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?

Every word true. Not exactly "crazy outgoing" though. I say whatever I want wherever I want, but I usually just stick to certain circles even online. Anywhere that doesn't leave me cringing.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D

Either awesome or crazy or both. I prefer those that are both. They're like big puppies :dog:

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*

We appear cold to everyone that isn't you. ENFPs breach our walls like stealth ninjas, and when you're standing outside our showers, recording our singing and we get out, we invite you for dessert. If you mean to upload our shower singing, we'll keep the facade up until you're well fed and left. Then we put out sentry turrets for the next time. If you don't mean to upload our shower singing, you've become our dear guest and welcome to our hospitality.
If you read enough into this, it'll explain how our Fe works.

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
Sure I do. Most people tend to attach the meaning of creativity to some form of art, but I believe it just means being unique and approaching situations differently than the majority would. By that definition, everything I do is creative. I act a certain way and do certain things on my own terms, by thinking through them and finding the best way to react according to that specific situation. I rarely look for a "general" solution or a "one sit fits all" approach.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
Hmm without getting too personal, I dealt with minor bullying in elementary school and middle school for being so damn nerdy lol. Ever since 2nd grade I had these huge ridiculous looking glasses, and the nickname "harry potter" stayed with me until I finally got contacts towards the end of middle school. "Napolean Dynamite" was also a popular nickname for me for a while lol. Also got a couple of bumps and bruises from these people every now and then, but nothing too serious. And once high school came around I was pretty much able to fit in wherever I wanted to.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
Not really, I feel like I need a lot of professional experience actually applying things that I've learned to become a specialist. But my favorite field of knowledge is psychology. Recently graduated with my bachelor's in it so I suppose that's something.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:
I love philosophy although I haven't studied it much. But thinking philosophically is basically how my brain works!

What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
Hmm I think that the meaning of life is to find a meaning in life. Simple as that.

Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
This is interesting because I've thought about this a lot. If we are molded by how we were treated as young children, then that would mean a lot of the choices we make could trace all the way back to those moments as toddlers. This would mean that everything is kind of predetermined for us, since we don't have a way of controlling how we were treated at those times. It makes logical sense, but I would still like to believe that I have 100 percent control over every decision I make. So that's my final answer...for now.

Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
Fun question. I think we should be judged based on the actions we take. The intent is the most important when trying to understand a person's true character. If someone burns my house down and that results in some wealth person donating me 10 million dollars, then I'm not gonna judge the person who burned my house down based off of me getting 10 million dollars lol. His intentions were bad, that's all that matters in this scenario.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Passions? Dreams? I am passionate about finding a dream that I can be passionate about lol.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
Hmm tough question. I can't recall a show that I've seen recently where there's been a character I really identify with. So I don't know.

7: What's your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is never being able to overcome my fears. Right now there are a few things that I'm afraid to do, and it's been hindering me lately. Hopefully I can soon find the courage to overcome my ridiculous tendency to overthink things.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
It's pretty true for me, although through college I went through a period of extreme growth. One of the things that I've gotten much better at is being confident in person and being able to (barely) hold a conversation lol. But it's more like I'm outgoing and silly once I'm comfortable around the person I'm talking to, it doesn't just have to be on the internet only.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
I've only met and talked to one person that I could type as an ENFP recently. It was in my last semester of college, and she was hilarious lol. Very silly and had a sense of humor that I'd probably never get tired of. I actually kind of regret not keeping in contact with her afterwards, but based off of this experience I'd say ENFPs are fantastic.

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*

Hmm I'm not sure why we would would come off as more sympathetic than other NTs. I personally do get questioned about why I don't reply to texts fast enough, or sometimes at all really. There are people who wonder if I even care about them at all sometimes, because I require a decent portion of time alone to reflect and recharge. Most people don't really seem to understand that, even other introverts. Then there's other times when these same people get the feeling that I definitely do care about them, because all of a sudden I'm being goofy and energetic which shows them that I'm having a good time when they're around. And there's definitely an even warmer side that I have as well, although it's buried very deep down and must be excavated by a significant other who reallllly wants to see it lol.

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
- Yes, in a mad scientist kind of way. I like to design systems, figure out how to do things with the resources at hand, etc. But art, music, all that--no. I make my living working with words, so people assume that I'm a writer as well. I tell them no, I have no urge to express myself in that way.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
- Insomnia. Being unpopular. Fear of dogs. A very strict but volatile father--what a combination! Being forced to eat huge amounts (spending 2 hours or so at the dinner table every night, trying to eat it all). Childhood was terrible until I left at age 16.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
- Nope. Jack of all trades. Favorite field of knowledge? Lots of things.

4: Are you into philosophy?
- Sure, but not as a formal area of study, and I don't want to read about some dead guy's philosophy.

if so i have additional questions:

What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
- Some germ got out of hand and now we have humans.
Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
- Mostly determined.
Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
- I don't like to think about judging each other, but I guess both, with the emphasis on the former.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
- Passion: Hula hooping. Dream: Finding a nice man and living happily ever after. What gets me out of bed in the morning: I have to pee. If you mean What makes my life worthwhile--Nothing, but suicide is not an option.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
- Maybe Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio's character on Law & Order: Criminal Intent).

7: What's your biggest fear?
- Homelessness.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
- Yes. In addition to what others have said, I think part of it is timing. On the Internet we can take our time considering what to say, so it all has a chance to come out. In real life we might be too slow, miss social cues, etc.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
- Not sure whether I know any. One female friend might be ENFP, and she's great (very insightful, fun, and open minded), although she makes emotional judgments (someone is good or bad, someone deserves her help) and then changes her mind, which I find a bit exasperating. In romance, EXXP would probably mean too much in-my-face weirdness, and I need more stability and/or privacy.

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
Sometimes. I'm less creative when I'm tired or stressed.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
Trying to fit in. These days I'm struggling more with motivation.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
No, I learn whatever I'm interested in at the moment and haven't gotten into anything enough to specialize in it.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:
Not really...
What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
I don't see life as anything special.

Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
A mixture of both, I suppose. I can't tell exactly how much free will we have yet.

Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
In other words, do the ends justify the means? That's pretty subjective. That's all I can say.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My only "dream" is to live alone someday. The only thing that gets me out of bed on weekdays is the fact that I'm not allowed to stay in my room past a certain time. On weekends, I get out of bed when I'm hungry.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
None.

7: What's your biggest fear?
Becoming dependent on someone else.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
I don't know, what do you think? :p

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
I haven't met many ENFPs in real life, but I haven't run into problems with anyone who seemed like an ENFP, so they're pretty cool I guess.

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*
My default mood can pretty much be described as "meh." On the rare occasion that I actually feel down/unmotivated/horrible about myself (like today), I end up blurting out things like "well yeah, I'm just feeling kind of done with life right now, you know?" to people who ask "how are you?"

I'm also terrible at reading people and offering emotional support. I might resort to giving them hugs and tissues when it's clear that they're not looking for advice.

Finally, I try hard not to offend people... and it still happens.

Yes and no. I don't consider myself creative...but people tell me I am sometimes. It's weird. When I try to be creative, I am not. When I'm relaxed, though, I can be. I think I'm more creative with solutions and problem-solving than anything. When I'm not forcing it, and when I'm genuinely curious or interested in something...yes, I can be creative.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
Distance from people. I had a few close friends during elementary school. By the time I hit high school, I had a lot of acquaintances, but no real friends. Everyone knew me at school. No one knew me after school. I wasn't afraid to talk to people....but I was sort of afraid to make friends. I'm honestly not sure why.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
I don't think I would say "specialist"...but I have an interest in population and demographic knowledge. Others that know me consider me the go-to source on this. I've gotten to the point where I'm confident in my own interpretations and findings. But this is a hobby, not a job.

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:

Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
I'm interested in philosophy, but not really deeply. I'm not really concerned with the meaning of life. I do believe in free will (it's also a great Rush song). And I think it would be wise to consider both the actions and the results when judging. Intent is important, as is effect.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
This is actually somewhere I struggle. I just...I'm not that passionate about anything. There are a number of topics I could probably talk your ear off about, but they aren't causes or anything. There's not really any line of work that I'm just starving to get into because of passion (which is probably why I'm underemployed).

What gets me out of bed in the morning? I have to go to work and make money to pay for the place I live and the food I eat. I don't at all dread it. But there's nothing driving me at the moment.

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
Randal Graves. Ok...just kidding.

Not sure I've found a character that's really like me. I do like Ron Swanson, though.

7: What's your biggest fear?
Failure at anything I truly put effort into.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
The internet provides the ability to communicate and express oneself without the consequence of in-person judgment.

I had a conversation with someone a while back. The internet allows introverts to gain equal footing. It allows people who are inwardly assholes to be outwardly assholes. And in the same vein, it allows shy people to be outgoing.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
I don't have any friends that have typed themselves as ENFP, but one friend I do have that seems to fit the behavior is a total trip. Very animated. Fun-loving. We're very different, but very much speak the same language. Nothing offends either of us. We can be honest and open...random...and our "deep" conversations usually include the other person emphatically shouting "YES!" (as in we totally get what the other is saying...that we've had these thoughts, but perhaps haven't verbalized them).

So, in my interaction with what I believe is an ENFP...I'd say...fun.

*bonus optional question, explain inferior Fe to me. you guys don't appear typically cold. Cold is sort of apparent in all the other NTs but you guys seem pretty sympathetic.*
I'd say desire to understand/fit in with others if not totally unsure how to actually do so. Less cold, more awkward/unsure.

1: Do you consider yourself creative? tell me about it.
I'd like to think I am. I enjoy writing and painting, so I suppose so.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
Being the weird kid and not being very in tune or interested in what the other kids were interested in. Also I had a lot of trouble both making and keeping friends.

3: Do you consider yourself a specialist in a specific topic? Whats your favorite field of knowledge?
Define 'specialist'. And psychology? Maybe?

4: Are you into philosophy? if so i have additional questions:

Kind of, but I don't think I know enough quite yet to answer those questions.

5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Ehh.... Bedsores?

6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
I'm not really sure, but maybe a combination of both Rick and Morty from Rick and Morty?

7: What's your biggest fear?
Dumasaphobia.

8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
No one can judge you, and if they do, it's as simple as exiting the page. It allows anonymity that irl is made much more difficult.

9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
It depends on the ENFP. Obviously not everyone of the same type are going to be the same, so this question is hard for me to answer. And if you meant my opinion of you as and ENFP, then I really don't know you well enough to say.

Replace the angel and devil on your shoulder with Rick and Morty. That actually seems very INTP.

With the exception that Morty may actually have the chance of winning an argument for once.

Most of them having to deal with having Autism.

Not really. I tend to have a variety of interests.

Yes
What do you think is the meaning of life? Does life have intrinsic meaning?
Even if there isn't, you still have to be respectful of others.
Do you think we have free will or is everything a determined result of the occurence before it?
the bigger question is if free will doesn't exist, are people responsible for what they do
Do you think we should be judged based on the actions we take or the results of those actions?
The ends rarely justify the means.
5: Tell me about your passions and dreams. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
I want to produce original content.
6: What fictional character do you most identify with?
No character comes to mind at the moment.
7: What's your biggest fear?
that I can't make a difference.
8: I've heard and somewhat observed that INTPs while reserved in person are crazy outgoing and silly on the internet. Thoughts?
A lot of social axieties tend to not be present online.
9: Honest opinion of ENFPs :D
I haven't met enough to make an accurate assessment.

With all due respect, I think we can both agree that we'd rather just be Aberdolf Linkler.
Nah...that just seems so...confused and contradictory.

I more identify with Bender from Futurama.

1) Sometimes when I'm actively thinking. But I'm never actively thinking. Sometimes I feel as if I'm brain dead walking down the streets.
2) Uninteresting. I came across as a shell of what a kid should be a lot of times and could also be very insensitive.
3)Not really yet... Im only in 2.5 year of earning my degree in my respective field.
4)I think everyone is to a point... Its natural to question things like that, however, philosophy as a field isn't something I would actively pursue. One thing that really bothers me is the modern scientific "shunning" of philosophy, in which you have spokesmen for science (not actual people delving into research themselves) talking about philosophy as if it has no place in science.
5) Earn money to move out while doing what I want to do. My motivation has been the same for the last couple of years. Its too idealistic and I know I will never accomplish it, so I wont bother sharing it.
6)The first boo you see after entering the hallway that leads to the back yard of the castle in super mario 64.

2: Whats kind of struggles did you have to deal with growing up?
- Being forced to eat huge amounts (spending 2 hours or so at the dinner table every night, trying to eat it all). Childhood was terrible until I left at age 16.

Im kind of curious now. I see you are a baby boomer, did your parents grow up during the depression?
