OKAY so I've been trying to figure my type out for a long time. I always test as ESTP but I'm not so sure it fits my personality! I did some serious digging into the cognitive functions and narrowed it down to ENTP, ESTP, and ISTP but I can't come to a final decision as I'm not able to objectively look at myself and make the decision.
Some things about myself:
I always do well in school--my specialty is cramming for tests  but overall my best/fav subjects are science and math.
I play the guitar and sing.
I can make some kick ass art if I really buckle down and try (but I gotta have a reference)
I enjoy being involved in various activities (sports, random clubs, etc). I'd choose being busy over sitting at home any day.
I enjoy acting. I love speaking/performing in front of large groups of people. I can easily start conversations and keep them going without being TOO awkward but generally I'm more on the reserved side in daily interactions.
I love analyzing things, situations, and people. One of my favorite things to do is type people.
Relationships LOL. I flirt well with people I don't feel "threatened" by; put me by a crush and I'll automatically retreat into a shell.
I hate hate hate holding grudges. You can piss me off but chances are I'll be ready to speak to you again within a few minutes.
Another pet-peeve is people who are too (negatively) emotional. CHILL.
I hate coming to decisions without having sufficient data/knowledge. That's the main reason why I'm so dubious about my type, I read up on them and I'm just like ????? I'm not so sure these traits are all me.
this may or may not be relevant but as a kid i absolutely adored reading--it was all I ever did. Nowadays? I never read simply because I'd rather be actively be involved in doing something.
uhhhmmm. My best friend is INFP 100%. We get along SO well because we share aspirations to travel and enjoy the same types of music and so forth, yet we have some glaring differences and somehow it works in this wonderful yin-yang type harmony. (example: since she is lead by Fi I am sometimes a little too rational for her understanding)
I DO NOT get along with my ENTJ mother as we disagree in almost every aspect, from political issues like gay marriage to trivial things like what order I should do my chores in (seriously, we argue about that kind of thing)
Another possibly irrelevant thing is my HORRIBLE memory. I seem to only remember details and facts that are important or interesting to me. Just this morning my mother and I had a dispute about something I had apparently said 2 minutes ago that I couldn't even recall saying.
I'm really ambitious. I don't know what I want to do in life but I know I want to succeed in every way possible. I'm really competitive and although I accept losses easily, I do whatever I can to avoid them.
and phew, i think that is hopefully enough insight into my life. Hopefully someone out there can divulge with me what they think about my personality :)

WELL THEN. my bad!

My first answer was going to be I wish I had better physical endurance :p but i don't believe that's the answer you are looking for

I suck with making small talk exciting. I wish I could be someone who easily gets people engaged and excited to speak with me.

Interesting. What happens when something bad happens to you or what you care about? Do you get overemotional, or overindulge to distract yourself?

Well it depends on the bad thing. If it's something absolutely overwhelming I'll get overemotional (for example a death) but for things that are more trivial and I deem not super important (i.e a quarrel) I just distract myself and I get over it.

Alright, how are you with experiences? Are you more willing to cast aside previous ones, having no subjective connection to them? Would you be called sentimental?

NO not at all--I'm not very sentimental.
Casting away past experiences isn't an issue for me at all.

Do you know the funtions?
When trying to type someone on expierences and what they tend to do it can be confusing because people are multi-dimensional, so I could be an entp- and act my way to fame, or be an estp that cries her way through soap operas.
But if you get down to the bones of what they do and why its easier (in my opinion) to figure out.

My guess is ENTP for you. You doing well in tests probably showed your comfort with theory. The way you talk sounds like an NT, (i.e hate coming to conclusions before having sufficient information). The fact also that your best friend is an Intuitive tells me you're probably a N too.

hmmm. You make a good point. I am aware of the functions but I'm just now doing extensive research on it. Thank you for the input.

Seems like you're STP to me. What makes you think ENTP?
Well *typically* ntp's are better with theorizing, and conceptual things, since they lead with Ne, correct?

I was also going to say ENTP by what I have read.
Just my opinion of course.
