You know I love you but this a bunch of bullsh*t. infps don't only use Fi, they have other functions too. A healthy infp can have very fair judgement and uses all functions to arrive at decisions. I'm not saying I need an infp to moderate the forum, I really don't care, but I resent the implication because of my functions that we would be poor choices for leadership positions, esp. for something like this that doesn't requre a face or group charisma or constant expended extrovert energy but simply fair decision making skills and some basic intellect. I fully accept that an Fe or Te dom may be better to lead a large group for group cohesion but not that infps are too IRRATIONAL or SELF ABSORBED to take on any basic responsibilities. Yes, we use values, and we use them to arrive at all kinds of decisions, like fariness, justic, compromise, ect. This really just sounds like taking a function at it's most simplistic level and isn't doing anyone any help.Well ^^
1) INFP's tend to decide through personal values (Fi). In the case of situations when 'unpopular' decisions need to be made, I doubt INFP's can/dare/will make a decision that is just, in a neutral, socially validated sense.
2) INFP's will be able to relate so well to other INFP's, to the point of being torn up between possibilities considering modding a forum. This makes decision making difficult and not a fun job. In general, anyone who performs a job they don't like will get tired of it. It's a turn off, rather than a stimulant.
Not sure why you're digging this old stuff up but yeah, I was being quite one-sided. Although I think you're coming on a tad too strong, many of the stuff you mention is not what I said or implied. Like saying INFP's are poor choices for leadership? And irrational, self absorbed? Are you projecting on me? Cause I didn't mention anything like that. You know I love you but this a bunch of bullsh*t. infps don't only use Fi, they have other functions too. I don't expect you to apologize in any form-- I'm not trying to call you out, though I can see it looks like that so I apologize. Whether you agree with the previous post or not, I wasn't trying to make an attack on your personal opinions but merely ideas I disagreed with. I prefaced it to with the love to try and indicate that it isn't a personal attack thing. I just disagree with the post and I wrote why. I can see you feel the wording was harsh & I'm sorry, I wasn't in an editing mood and definitely wasn't tactful or careful in my approach. As for how old it is-- I getcha that the post is no longer relevant to you. On my end the post is less attatched to who wrote it but the points in it, and I tend to ignore when something was posted because that doesn't mean it is not still worth answering or relevant/interesting. It felt relevant to me to address to any other infps who read that and came to similar conclusions on the limiting nature of Fi. I see a lot of that on the forum and I think it's a tihnking cycle that infps need to break out of, not justify. That is why I answered it.Not sure why you're digging this old stuff up but yeah, I was being quite one-sided. AA, I love you too and yes my post was quite simplistic. Sorry for offending you that way. I'm happy I've come to better understanding MBTI and INFP's in the months after that old post of mine and yeah, in the end, I'm taking back what I said (or distancing myself from it), I'm definitely not opposed to having an INFP mod the INFP forums. It's been so long, but yeah sure I was wrong back then.
But I won't apologize for stuff I didn't say. That's just a step too far.
oh cool like ice. ICE COOL@adverseaffects - Nope, not mad at all. You were right on my approach being one-sided and thus a sort of blind, but I did feel like you were aiming at me and still, I'd like to emphasize I wasn't intent on implying the implications that you are seeing. Anyways I understand you didn't mean so, so we're still cool. Other than that, I see what you're saying and support your cause, even. We're even cooler than cool now, I hope![]()
:blushed: Awesome. Too bad I didn't get to taste the cake that was baked for me. Hahaha xD But thanks AA, that's awesome :3it tasted good even though it looks like it went through a blender.
ENJOY!
