Swear I've done this one before...

Yeah, a while back, as the above thing suggests I thought I was an INFJ. Obviously I'm thinking the same now otherwise I wouldn't be making this sort of thread.

I was wondering if you could put the bias of seeing previous posts of mine (if you have) out of the way and give me some form of assistance of differentiating between the INTJ and the INFJ. I'm struggling greatly to do this by myself, my own attempts at research have come up empty handed.

I am certain that I am an Ni dominant, that much is for certain so the INXJ part doesn't need to be called into question.

Any help is greatly valued, thanks in advance.

In all honesty, all my research comes up with descriptions that don't help me understand the concepts at all, if you could shed a bit of light that'd be grand. My own thoughts make me think I'm probably an INFJ, don't think I'm emotionally vacant in expression or behaviour to be an INTJ.

From the few dealings I've had with you Emerson, i'd say INFJ. the fact that you're a type 5 INFJ is signifigant, because that can give a very INTJ/INTPish kind of vibe to an INFJ, especially if you're a self pres type 5.
So, an INFJ with a slightly more cynical humour,.. possibly more driven to aquire knowledge out of a need to be competant,.. do any of these things sound familiar?
I ask because as a type 5 INFJ,.. there arent that many of us, the vibe can seem very NTish,.. but it isnt really T at all, just jacked up Ti, which does a fair impression of an NT, but the Fe will always come through, even if its reluctantly. Isolationist INFJ type 5's will seem 'colder' than the other INFJ's, but will have the ability to bring through a blast of Fe when they feel they need to, or feel they should.
in some convos with you, I noticed that you went along with jokes and stuff, to keep a sense of group harmony,.. very obvious Fe there, i thought.
So, I would say INFJ for you :)

I went through the same personality conundrum too. And I'm a Type 5. :)

Thanks, that's helped clear it up a load. I thought Fe/Ti makes more sense than Te/Fi I'm rather expressive with feelings than anything else. Shame I can't do multiple thanks really, since your post warrants more thanks than a sarcastic comment which will garner thanks... Ah well.

Anywho, thank you again :) x

I'm glad I waited for someone smarter to answer. I just can't seem to get it together :frustrating:
