Even in the music industry, I can see some parallels. Music from both decades seems to have a more conscious and less edgy sound than music from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and '00s does.
Best examples of this would be the parallels between bands/artists like the Beatles and Bob Dylan to bands/artists like Twenty-One Pilots and Ed Sheeran.

What do you all think of this?

Interesting comparison, I never thought of it like this! I do remember an older lady telling me that this decade is basically a 2.0 version of the 60s with how the events are similar.

I honestly always compared this decade to the 80's, not much of events but how the vibe to me gives off the feeling that someday people in the next two decades will consider this decade as un-hip like the 80s were, with our fashion and slang being mocked as well. It's hard to explain lol.

as a boomer your comparison isn't even close
the 60's was a totally different era
all the opportunities you have today were a product of the 60's revolution
it was the young revolting against the establishment
big factor- the 60's was anti authority
new generation is pro authority/fetish
the policing agencies/emt/medics/ firefighters/ soldiers are now worshipped
the music was counter culture
please don't compare the genius of the 60's musicians to the modern ''artists''
the music was a large part of the revolution
there is no modern revolution
Of course the baby boomer would say this

Seriously though, do you think their will be any other *revolutions* at some point? Because to me since we are not in any major one now, if things don't change soon then we will be someday.

I have a professor who said that by 2024 America will not be the same at all and our country will be destroyed due to democracies always doing that every 200 or so years and 2024 would be that year. I don't believe that but I do bealive America will not be the same by the time 2050 happens. Which I hope is for the better.
