Do you ever get caught up in the vicious cycle of the ambiverted?

That's when you crave for being alone, but then you get too alone and crave for people, and then when you're with people, you wish you were alone.

Isn't it only healthy to alternate between company and solitude?

It's pretty rare that I want to be around people other than my wife or a few close friends, and I socialize more for my own well being than to satisfy a craving. I live in a big city where it can be difficult to find solitude for any length of time. I'm probably less needy of social interaction than many INFJs, but equally as skilled at it. If I spend too much time alone on my desert island my general outlook and opinions of people as a whole turn negative. If I'm consuming media and forming judgements about the people or movements involved, I may come to some harsh conclusions. When I reach this point, it takes some social interaction to restore my faith in people.
