Does anyone else love Sturgeon? I'm posting this here and not in the literature forums because some of his writings makes me think that he was probably familiar with jungian functions. I'm not familiar with his biography, I just inferred this from his work.

First we have his novel More than Human, where the characters all together represent a super-human gestalt who will have all the functions equally developed. Obviously this is the reason why they are underdeveloped individuals in all other respects taken by themselves

They start as four (the twins count for one):

Lone-the mentally challenged telepath-Ni
The Twins- can't speak but teleport, ...not sure about this, Se?
Baby- "*********", sort of an idiot-savant computer-Ti and/or Si
Janie- she is the one who can communicate with Baby and has telekinesis- Ne

then they add

Gerry-the sociopathic kid- Te, who subtitues Lone as the "head"

and in the end there's Hip- Fi and Fe-the conscience

maybe I'm stretching it a bit, but it made sense at the time of reading it.

Another interesting one is the short story Make Room For Me, where the 3 characters, while with a more developed personality each and "normal", achieve greatness working together as parts of a unity, quoting from the story "What Vaughan inspires, I design, and Manuel builds."
