Are there times where you think so much (maybe too much) that you get super depressed?

For me, there was one day where I was left alone and had loads of time to just wonder about things. And I started thinking about how the people around me were meaningless/fake and that all the socialising/caring is for show. But then I hung out with my friends the next day and of course I snapped out of my crazy thoughts and realised how aweosme they are :frustrating:

Feel free to share. :proud:

I can relate to an extent. I wouldn't say I get depressed when I overthink, I get dead--I don't get emotionally compromised or anything, I just lose my motivation to do a lot of things. Some say it's a Ti-Ni loop, some say it's just unbalanced Ti, but yeah, I've seen it happen in my own life and others' lives, and it is no fun at all especially for an Se user :p

There is such a thing as overthinking/overanalyzing. We do have to be careful of that.

At the same time, thinking/analyzing is kind of like breathing to me. As soon as I wake up, I want to read something, learn something, analyze a problem, etc. When I do physical exercise like running, I sometimes find it boring because it doesn't require me to think very much. When I play basketball, on the other hand, I'm required to anticipate what's going to happen next, think quickly/react, etc. So that's stimulating.

Even if I'm watching TV and trying to unwind, it better make me think or else I'll lose interest and get on the computer. The wheels are always spinning, thinking through things, etc.

But, yeah, it can be overdone, especially if it's just rehashing the same problem over and over in your mind. That's probably not good.

sounds somewhat like an Introvert's dom-tert loop dominating, thus suppressing the extraverted auxiliary function (which I understand serves to maintain balance).
bah am I making any sense.
