A new study has indicated a connection between the use of MBS and testicular cancer.

Zheng found that MBS users were 1.65 times as likely to get testicular cancer as those who did not use the supplements. Moreover, Zheng says, “If you used at [an] earlier age, you had a higher risk. If you used them longer, you had a higher risk. If you used multiple types, you had a higher risk.” The danger more than doubled for those who started using before they turned 25, as well as for those who used for more than three years or used more than one kind.

There is a balancing act to it. I personally have avoided supplements aside from protien shakes (ones without creatine, etc in it). As for the balance, one of the trainers at the gym I go to only recommends using them IF you are a hard gainer and that you are really serious about bodybuilding instead of just fitness. If not he just directs people to common dieting measures, such as what to eat pre and post workout, and always stresses hydration.
