Here's the situation....
I enrolled in school in January, and we're entering our fourth week of classes. I found out after the second week that my classes are useless toward my major, a complete waste of my time, and I'm probably going to fail out of boredom.
I have until the end of the week to withdraw from school and get 30% of my student loans back. I'm on the basketball team as well and this is the last week of season. I'd like to finish the season but I'm not playing much(AT ALL) and my team is pretty subpar so it really doesn't matter to me... But still after the end of this week I get nothing back.
Of course I've asked my friends and family and they've all said, "Try and get help with the classes, don't give up, yada, yada, yada..." But I know in my heart there is no amount of help that's going to get me through these classes, and if I do decide to stay I'm ending the semester with straight f's(d's if i'm lucky). Either way they're not going to count towards shit and I'll have wasted time and brain cells.... oh yeah and another thing, my stepdad is my basketball coach. I'm sure it's going to be embarrassing that he "did me a favor" and let me on the team, then decided to I drop out of school. (He's a good guy though. I have no ill feelings toward him, but I can't say he will feel the same toward me after this)
To recap, here are my options:
A. Withdraw from school this week, feel the wrath of a huge support system for a short period. But at least I get 30% back.
B. Finish out the season, withdraw from school, feel the wrath of huge support system that feels used I went to school for a half of a basketball season and quit, and get no money back.
C. Finish out school and basketball season, wasting my time, brain cells, and money to get straight F's. But hey, at least the lectures will get put off a few months, and they'll be proud I tried.
I'm all for A at this point, but I thought I'd get some unbiased opinions. Can you help me out ladies and gents?
*If I do withdraw from school, I'm going to find a job and start repaying my student loans
